Each of Bolton's last three matches have featured at least four goals.

Arsenal are likely to make wholesale changes to their starting lineup for Wednesday's clash with League One side Bolton in the EFL Cup.

A number of the Gunner's fringe players will be looking to impress in this game with the hope that they can force their way into Mikel Arteta's plans for the Leicester game on Saturday.

Arsenal preview: Unbeaten in all competitions

Arsenal will have been disappointed to draw three of their last four matches in league and cup but are at least unbeaten so far this season.

Despite leading for a long time against Man City, the ten men of Arsenal were eventually pegged back and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Mikel Merino, Martin Odegaard, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Kieran Tierney will miss the midweek EFL Cup tie against Bolton due to injury.

Predicted lineup: Neto (GK), White, Kiwior, Calafiori, Tomiyasu, Jorginho, Lewis-Skelly, Sterling, Nwaneri, Kacurri & Jesus

Bolton preview: Started slowly

We're expecting Bolton to field the same starting lineup that helped earn a 4-2 home win over Reading at the weekend.

Bolton really needed that victory which put them onto seven points from their opening six league games, leaving the former Premier League side sitting 18th in the League One table.

The Bolton fans won't be expecting much from this game as three of their last six matches have ended in defeat, even if Arsenal rotate their entire starting lineup.

Predicted lineup: Baxter (GK), Ricardo, Toal, Dacres-Cogley, Johnston, Sheehan, Matete, Thomason, Charles, Adeboyejo & Schon

Player to watch: Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling hasn't featured much for Arsenal since making his move from Chelsea on loan until the end of the season but we're backing the England international to play the full 90 minutes against Bolton.

Sterling scored 10 times in 43 games for Chelsea last season but has been deemed surplus to requirements by Enzo Maresca and is now looking to prove his worth with the Gunners.

Sterling to lead by example against Bolton

We will be surprised if Sterling doesn't play the majority of this EFL Cup tie and if he doesn't open his account for the Gunners as scoring goals from midfield is his forte.
