Real Madrid are preparing for the summer transfer window and have quietly approached Arsenal about one of their key players. However, the Spanish giants were immediately rebuffed by the Gunners.
With David Alaba set to depart and uncertainty surrounding Antonio Rudiger's future, Real Madrid are looking to strengthen their central defence this summer. The club have already begun their search, and while a move for Nico Schlotterbeck has already been reported, TeamTalk has now revealed a new target for the La Liga side.
According to the British outlet, Real Madrid have enquired about the availability of Gabriel. The Brazilian centre-back has established himself as a guaranteed starter at Arsenal, where he forms a strong and complementary partnership with William Saliba. The 28-year-old has already made 32 appearances this season.

Arsenal reject Real Madrid approach
The Gunners, upon learning of Madrid's discreet enquiry, immediately turned the Spanish giants away with an unequivocal response: Gabriel is not available at any price.
The north London club are delighted with the progress of the former Lille defender and are counting on him for the future. He signed a contract extension until June 2029 in the summer of 2025. This new long-term deal also indicates that the Brazil international is happy in London and is not considering a new adventure elsewhere.
Arsenal's project is clear: keep their best players. Gabriel, who is valued at £63.5m (€75m) by Transfermarkt, is not expected to leave Arsenal next summer.
The club have recently sent a strong message to Europe's elite by extending the contracts of Bukayo Saka and William Saliba. The Gunners will now look to do the same with Declan Rice.
