Arsenal transfer news: Gunners ready to beat PSG to rising star Aleksey Batrakov

Paris Saint-Germain, who have been interested in Aleksey Batrakov for several months, are reportedly no longer considered to be in pole position in the dossier. Arsenal and another English club have entered the race.

As such, the capital club do appear to be genuinely interested in the 20-year-old Russian attacking midfielder. The youngster is enjoying an excellent season with Lokomotiv Moscow, having racked up 17 goals and 12 assists in 35 appearances.

Already a Russia international with 10 caps and three goals to his name, he has everything to become the new face of his national team. He is also a rising star who is attracting interest from European heavyweights. In this dossier, PSG Inside Actus indicates that the European champions have made enquiries about Batrakov and have scouted him on several occasions.

Arsenal and Everton keen on the Russian attacking midfielder

However, the capital club have not concretely moved into action and reportedly have no immediate intention of doing so. Paris, who keep a close eye on the market for talented young players, are tracking this Russian gem alongside others. The dossier is therefore said to be at an observation stage, while the competition is beginning to step up its efforts.

According to the same source, the trend appears to be leaning more towards a move to the Premier League for the Russian No. 10. Several English clubs are reportedly monitoring his situation closely, including Arsenal and Everton, and could table offers in the upcoming summer transfer window. The London club should hold the advantage, should they decide to accelerate their pursuit.

Already valued at £21m on the market, Aleksey Batrakov could become the new Andrey Arshavin. The Russian left winger, who made 144 appearances for the Gunners, joined Arsenal in 2009 for £14m from Zenit Saint Petersburg.
