Armenia failed to secure promotion to League B of the Nations League after suffering a heavy 9-1 aggregate defeat to Georgia in the relegation/promotion playoff.
Following that setback, Armenia picked up just one win from their next 11 games, including a dreadful World Cup qualifying campaign in which they finished bottom of their group.
A 1-1 draw against Kazakhstan prevented them from suffering six consecutive defeats in all competitions, but they have slowly started to build momentum again.
