Armenia will take on Latvia on Friday, 25 September as the latest edition of the UEFA Nations League gets underway.
With the Nations League also a potential route to the European Championship in 2028, both Armenia and Latvia will be keen to get off to the best start possible on Friday night.

After taking over as Armenia boss in August 2025, Yeghishe Melikyan has just a few months left on his existing contract, meaning he has this Nations League campaign to convince the powers that be that he is the man to lead the national team forward.
Armenia's form during recent international breaks doesn't indicate that they are going to enjoy a fruitful Nations League campaign, as their last victory was over a year ago against Ireland in a World Cup qualifier.
They have played seven matches since then, losing five and drawing two, but a new campaign means a fresh start to get things right as they seek promotion to League B.
The good news for Melikyan is that his big-hitters are available for this extended international break, including his attacking midfielder Eduard Spertsyan.
As for Latvia, their form only reads better on paper because they were blessed with back-to-back matches against Gibraltar, a nation ranked 202nd in the world, back in March.
The two wins over Gibraltar ensured they kept their Group C status, and with everyone starting from a level playing field, they will be determined to avoid another relegation playoff this time around.
It is the second Nations League campaign in a row that these two sides have been drawn into the same group, and considering Latvia lost both matches to Armenia two years ago, there will be some scars in the camp.
Manager Paolo Nicolato could hand a debut to QPR's Dennis Cirkin, who has recently switched his international allegiance to Latvia after representing England at youth level.
