Persepolis vs Al Nassr prediction: A close contest awaits
Key stats
- Both teams have scored in eight of the last 10 games played by Al Nassr in all competitions.
- Two of the last four meetings between these two teams have ended in draws.
- Persepolis haven't lost at home in the Champions League this season, notching one win and a couple of draws.
Correct score prediction: Persepolis 1-1 Al Nassr
While Al Nassr don't need points from this game, they won't just surrender and Persepolis have struggled to prove this season that they have the quality to get into the knockout stages of the AFC Champions League. In any case, with Al Nassr likely playing reserves, Persepolis will have a good chance, but we can see them only ending up with a point even against a weakened Al Nassr team.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Al Nassr the more likely winners
- HOME: 5/4 (2.25) – 44.40%
- DRAW: 23/10 (3.30) – 30.30%
- AWAY: 5/2 (3.50) – 28.60%

We can see from these Persepolis vs Al Nassr odds that the bookies see the hosts as the expected winners, which is certainly surprising since Al Nassr are clearly the better team and in great form.
That being said, Al Nassr have already secured a spot in the next stage and they will likely field a mixed team, which is why the hosts are seen as the more likely winners.

Persepolis preview: Last train for the knockout stage
With six points from seven games in the AFC Champions League this season, Persepolis haven't been able to secure their place in the knockout stages, but they have a chance to do this in the last round. However, not everything depends on them, but if they can beat Al Nassr, that would certainly be enough to get them to the next phase.

Al Nassr preview: Flying high at the moment
While Al Nassr are still eight points behind Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, they've managed to cut the deficit a bit and they enter this game after an impressive win over Al Ahli away from home. When it comes to the AFC Champions League, Al Nassr have already secured a spot in the knockout stages, so they'll likely rest most of their starters to keep them fresh for the challenges in the domestic championship.
When it comes to team news, Sami Al Najei and Otavio are sidelined with injuries.

Player to watch: Jhon Duran
The young Colombian forward was a pricey acquisition for Al Nassr, but judging by the early returns, it will be a purchase that will be worthy of the money. After all, Duran already managed to score four goals in his first two league games with the team, although he failed to score in his only AFC Champions League match so far.

We don't know whether Duran will play against Persepolis or be rested as likely other starters, but since he is still a new player at the club, Stefano Pioli might decide to give him another start to let him get even more familiar with the system.
