Authenticity (4.5/5): Milan push for Jashari
AC Milan's sporting director Igli Tare is keen to hand a new midfielder to Massimiliano Allegri and has accordingly made a bid for Club Brugge star Ardon Jashari.
The story comes from transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who claims several clubs are in the race for the Switzerland international.
Value (3/5): Brugge demanding more
The Rossoneri have submitted an offer worth around £25million, including add-ons, for Jashari. However, the Belgian giants value their star at around £35million, as per HLN.
The Swiss star only moved to Brugge from FC Luzern last summer, so the club have plenty of negotiating power due to his long-term contract.
Suitability (4/5): Impeccable technical ability
The 22-year-old primarily plays as a number six in Brugge's midfield and has impressed with his technical ability in possession. He is very comfortable against the press and excels at making line-breaking passes from the deep.
Upgrade? (3.5/5): A different profile
Milan has a Tijjani Reijnders size void to fill in their midfield. While the Dutchman impressed at San Siro with his goalscoring prowess, Jashari likes to make a difference in deeper areas. However, his ability to dictate the tempo of the game should allow Milan to spend more time in the final third and as a result, score more goals.
Logic (2.5/5): Player keen on European football
The report from HLN hints that Jashari wants to play in Europe next season. However, Milan failed to qualify for any European competition and would have to accordingly make a solid pitch to convince the player to join their project ahead of other suitors.
Whisper+ verdict: 17.5/25
Milan need to up their bid for Jashari as well as strike an agreement with the player's representatives. It is going to be a tricky pursuit but the Serie A giants are certainly serious about signing the talented midfielder.
