After a disappointing season in 2025/26, Aberdeen have had an excellent summer as they look to re-establish themselves as a top-six club in the Scottish Premiership.
They have won all four of their League Cup matches in the build-up to this match, which should give Stephen Robinson and his side plenty of confidence coming into a match against a Hearts side that will be feeling sorry for themselves after being dumped out of the Champions League.
Robinson was appointed Aberdeen manager towards the back end of last season, and although there wasn't a significant ‘bounce' following his appointment, there is a fresh look to the squad this time around with 11 new players through the door.
Several of those signings will make their league debuts on Saturday, but Robinson will be without Kristers Tobers and Ante Palaversa due to injuries.
As for Hearts, this has been a summer that couldn't have gone much worse for them.
Following their devastating loss to Celtic on the final day of the season, there would have been an appetite to go again, but that has all been blown up by Derek McInnes, Lawrence Shankland and Cammy Devlin all leaving for Rangers.
In what could have been a summer of building on what was an excellent platform, it has turned into a rebuild, but after losing 6-0 on aggregate to Sturm Graz in Champions League qualifying, new manager Wouter Vrancken is already on the back foot.
Vrancken needs a good start in the league, but he has a long list of injuries to deal with this weekend, which isn't helping his cause. Stephen Kingsley and Alexandros Kyziridis are the latest two players to go down, after being forced off against Sturm Graz in the week.

Kevin Nisbet has already scored six goals this season. Nisbet to score anytime has been priced at 15/8.
