The right-back has moved in a deal worth in the region of £15m, seeing the Red Devils take a significant loss on the 26-year-old. Wan-Bissaka signed for Manchester United back in 2019 in a £50m deal from Crystal Palace.

Wan-Bissaka West Ham wages: How much will he earn?

Wan-Bissaka's West Ham weekly wages have not been fully revealed, with the deal having only been completed in recent days.

However, it is being widely reported that Wan-Bissaka has taken a wage cut to join the Irons, having been on a salary of around £90,000 per week at Manchester United.

The Irons were unwilling to match those wages. A player at Wan-Bissaka's age is rarely willing to take a pay cut, but two key factors have seen this one happen.

Firstly, Manchester United have made their intention to move the Englishman on all summer, with a £17m move for Noussair Mazraoui waiting in the wings. As such, the Old Trafford hierarchy were willing to agree a payoff with Wan-Bissaka, believed to be in the region of £5.6m to make up the difference, sweetening the blow of a wage cut.

Secondly, Wan-Bissaka is joining a keenly ambitious West Ham project, who have made eight confirmed signings already. The Irons are eyeing a return to Europe, and with Wan-Bissaka having made 35 appearances in UEFA competitions, he will be a senior and key figure in his exciting new challenge at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.

Wan-Bissaka West Ham wages: How long is his contract?

The former Crystal Palace right-back has agreed a seven-year contract with the Irons.

The deal gives Wan-Bissaka considerable security, and he will be 33 when his deal comes to an end in 2031. The length of his contract could have been a factor in making east London an attractive destination to the 26-year-old.

It is, however, a sizeable and potentially risky investment for West Ham, as relatively few full-backs continue to play at the highest level into their mid-30s, such are the athletic demands of the role in the modern game.

However, as Wan-Bissaka's strongest attribute is his ability to defend in one-on-one scenarios with even the trickiest of wingers, through his clever reading of opponents' movements, West Ham may feel confident he can continue to perform into his 30s.

The right-back will likely make his debut as a Hammer against Aston Villa, alongside a clutch of other new signings – time will tell if he has been a shrewd investment.
