Young Boys vs Crvena Zvezda Team News & Injuries
Read all of the latest injury updates, Young Boys vs Crvena Zvezda lineups and team news for Tuesday’s Champions League fixture below.
Young Boys
Malik Demme, Cedric Itten and Kastriot Imeri are out injured for Young Boys at present. Young Boys were beaten 3-1 by rivals Zurich in the Swiss Super League at the weekend. The Swiss side are also bottom of the pile in UCL Group G.
Predicted Lineup for Young Boys: Racioppi – Blum, Camara, Benito, Garcia – Ugrinic, Niasse, Colley, Males – Elia, Nsame
Crvena Zvezda
Crvena Zvezda generally like to set up in a 3-5-2 formation and they used that tactical structure in their last group game against RB Leipzig. Crvena Zvezda are currently in second spot domestically though their performances on the continent have been subpar so far.
Predicted Lineup for Crvena Zvezda: Glazer – Mijailovic, Djiga, Dragovic, Rodic, Lucic – Kanga, In-Beom, Ivanic – Krasso, Bukari
Players to Watch
Young Boys: Meschack Elia
Meschack Elia has been a consistent performer for Young Boys over the last four seasons, chipping in with goals and assists on a regular basis. The 26-year-old has scored twice in the Champions League this season as well as providing one assist, so the Crvena Zvezda defence will have to keep an eye on the attacker. Elia is on his way to his best goals return for Young Boys after netting five goals in his opening twelve starts. During the 2021/22 campaign, Elia scored eight goals in the Swiss Super League which is his best return to date. Whilst you couldn't call him prolific, Elia certainly has something about him that makes him a real goal threat and someone Young Boys have come to rely on to chip in with goals, but could this be the season that the striker finally reaches double figures?
Crvena Zvezda: Osman Bukari
Osman Bukari was the star of the show when Crvena Zvezda played Young Boys last month and the Ghanaian attacker bagged a goal and an assist in the exciting 2-2 draw between the teams. The 24-year-old has the skills to make a similar impact in Tuesday’s rematch between the clubs. Bukari made the move to Serbia after failing to impress in his one season with Ligue 1 side Nantes where he scored two goals in twenty-four appearances. However, the move to Crvena Zvezda had an instant impact on the Ghana forward who scored twelve goals in twenty-nine league games last season. With five goals in ten starts in the Serbian Super League, Bukari is showing his true value and may yet earn a return to one of Euroep's big leagues.
