Here are our Premier League predictions for Chelsea vs Wolves on Sunday. Just one place and two points separate these two sides heading into this weekend's clash. We're expecting a close and competitive ninety minutes but who will score the first goal?

Chelsea vs Wolves prediction – Betting tips & odds

Hot Tip – Over 2.5 Goals

  • Over 2.5 goals have been scored in three of the last four encounters between Chelsea and Wolves.
  • Three of Chelsea's last six matches have also featured at least three goals.

Another reason that we have backed over 2.5 goals as our main prediction is that Wolves played out a seven-goal thriller with Man Utd on Thursday night.

Chelsea vs Wolves team news

Chelsea

Chelsea made the trip to Anfield in midweek but probably wish they had just stayed at home. The hosts dominated the match, scoring three times before Chelsea netted their one and only goal of the game in the seventy-first minute through Christopher Nkunku. Liverpool added a fourth goal soon after to end any faint hopes of a Chelsea comeback.

Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Marc Cucurella, Romeo Lavia, Robert Sanchez, Trevoh Chalobah, Levi Colwill, Nicolas Jackson and Lesley Ugochukwu are all doubts for Sunday's match.

Predicted Lineup: Petrović (GK), Silva, Chilwell, Disasi, Badiashile, Gallagher, Palmer, Fernández, Caicedo, Sterling & Nkunku

Wolves

Wolves came out on the wrong end of a 4-3 scoreline on Thursday night when they played host to Man Utd. The hosts were already two goals behind when Pablo Sarabia converted a spot kick to make it 21 but soon after, Man Utd scored a third goal. Wolves made it 3-2 through defender Max Kilman with five minutes of the ninety remaining and when Pedro Neto equalised in stoppage-time, it looked like Wolves had done enough to earn a point. However, Man Utd won the game in the ninety-seventh minute via an effort from teenage midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

Hee-Chan Hwang is still away at the Asia Cup and won't be available for selection this weekend.

Predicted Lineup: Sá (GK), Dawson, Doherty, Semedo, Kilman, T. Gomes, Lemina, Bellegarde, Doyle, Neto & Cunha

Player to Watch: Cole Palmer

We've highlighted Cole Palmer as our player to watch in this game as we believe that the former Man City man will help guide Chelsea to all three points on Sunday.

Palmer top scores for the Londoners with nine league goals and while five of those goals have come from the penalty spot, Palmer's all-round play has provided a real bright spark for the Chelsea fans in what has been an otherwise frustrating season so far.
