After finishing just below the top half places in the Bundesliga last season, Wolfsburg would have been hoping for more of the same but have dramatically under performed and are now the surprise package of the season for all the wrong reasons.

After 28 league games, Dieter Hecking's side have won just five times and are in real danger of facing the drop into Germany's second tier.

As for the visitors, they have also failed to follow up last season's performances, where they finished third, with another successful campaign.

Although sitting much higher in seventh place, Eintracht Frankfurt are unlikely to be playing European football next season and enter their 29th Bundesliga outing 10 points adrift of sixth.

While the travelling side have been good defensively in recent weeks, Wolfsburg have been anything but and come into Saturday's clash with just one clean sheet to their name this season.

If they are to maintain their Bundesliga status for next seasonthey will need to tighten their defence and improve results quickly, with safety six points away and just six games remaining.

Should the hosts claim just a sixth league win of the season, it would be a 17th ever against Frankfurt with this being their 41st meeting.

As for the visiting side, they are currently 10 points adrift of the European places and in need of an end of season miracle if they are to be playing European football next season.

Their recent draw last weekend highlighted their inconsistencies this season with Eintracht Frankfurt giving away a two-goal lead late on and failing to close the gap between the sides above.

With a push to move into the top six unlikely at this stage, Riera's men will feel they can play with freedom and look forward to building on their campaign's performances next season.

Although winless in their last five away games, the Eagles have been impressive on the road and enter this one as favourites.

Whispers predicts: Wolfsburg 0 vs 2 Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt are understandably favourites with the bookmakers given their recent form and position in the table compared to the home side, a win for them is placed at 8/5.

In terms of what we see happening, BTTS - No is priced at 6/4, with Frankfurt's strong defence likely to stand firm against a weak Bundesliga team.

Our next pick is Jonathan Burkardt to score, with 10 goals so far this season, that comes in at 11/8.

We are going for a 2-0 win for Frankfurt which is priced by the bookmakers at 14/1.

📈 Whispers' Tips

> BTTS - No at 6/4 | Likelihood: Probable

> Burkardt to score anytime at 11/8 | Likelihood: Possible

> Correct score - 0-2 at 14/1 | Likelihood: Outsider
