Whisper+ analysis
Authenticity (3/5): SSN on the inside
Nottingham Forest have made a bid of £22 million for Brentford striker Yoane Wissa as they rival Arsenal for his signature.
This news was a Sky Sports News exclusive, which suggests this story carries a bit of weight.
Value (3/5): Bees have lofty expectations
According to the same source, the Bees are going to reject that bid, which is not quite in line with his market valuation of £23.7 million.
After 11 goals in the league this season, it is unsurprising that Brentford's asking price is much higher, especially with Premier League rivals chasing the Congolese forward.
Suitability (4/5): Won't unsettle Forest
Operating as a centre-forward this term, Wissa has also spent time out wide on both the left and right of a front three under Thomas Frank, supporting Bryan Mbeumo and Ivan Toney, previously.
Forest won't want to upset the apple cart, with Chris Wood in such good form, but Wissa's ability out wide could help to get even more out of the big New Zealander.
Upgrade? (3/5): Few better this season
Wissa is currently seventh in the Premier League golden boot race, so there are few places he can go and not be considered an upgrade in terms of goals. However, the City Ground is perhaps one of them, given that Forest striker Chris Wood is ahead of him in said race.
Then again, Wissa is a very different player to Wood, so he would offer Nuno Espirito Santo's men a completely different attacking threat.
Logic (2.5/5): Not much on offer
Forest won't want to tempt fate by suggesting they can offer UEFA Champions League football next season, while European football is still not out of the question for the Bees.
The asking price will be huge for a player they will use in a supporting role, while Wissa will likely be much happier being the spearhead of the Brentford attack.
Whisper+ verdict: 15.5/25
Forest might be making a formal bid, but Arsenal are still the more likely next destination for Wissa.
