Who is the tallest football player in the world? – The top 5

5. Fokko Booiman – 2.11m/6ft 9in

The first player on the list is Booiman, who is a 37-year-old Dutch goalkeeper. He has played for a few lower division clubs in the Netherlands, including VVAK, VV Hoogeveen and La Premiere.

4. Benjamin Bobsin – 2.11m/6ft 9in

Unsurprisingly, another goalkeeper makes the list in Bobsin. The 35-year-old plays in Germany for TSG Sandershausen II, but has only played once for them since the 2021/22 season.

3. Felix Wolf – 2.12m/6ft 9in

A third goalkeeper makes the list, and second German one, in Wolf. The 38-year-old plays for Kunersdorf in Germany, where he made one appearance in the 2017/18 season.

2. Andre Spaker – 2.13m/6ft 9in

The second-tallest player in the world known currently is Spaker, who (you guessed it!) is a German goalkeeper. The 33-year-old is last known to have played for SG Borken in Germany in 2023, and has also played for Adler Weseke.

1. Jonathan Mertsch – 2.14m/7ft

The tallest player in the world remarkably breaks the 7ft barrier. Yet another German, Mertsch is a lot younger than the other players on the list at just 23 years old. But unlike them, he is not a goalkeeper. Mertsch is an attacker who plays for SC Edermunde in Germany, and made one appearance for them in the 2022/23 season.
