Cork have been by far the worst travellers in the Irish Premier Division with a 0-2-9 win-draw-loss record in 11 away games. Gerard Nash’s troops are coming off back-to-back defeats and are without a win in their last 13 matches across all competitions.

Like their opponents, Waterford have had their fair share of struggles, winning only once in their last eight games. They are eighth in the 10-team Premier Division table ahead of their encounter with last-placed Cork City.

With that in mind, Waterford are the expected winners at 10/11 (1.91). Teams with these odds generally have a 52.4% probability of winning.

Waterford preview: Hoping to halt their winless streak

Waterford are coming off a humiliating 7-2 defeat at Derry City last Friday, where Padraig Amond’s second-half brace only served as consolation goals.

The loss at Brandywell Stadium was Waterford’s heaviest defeat this campaign, showcasing the team's weakness at the back, which at the moment looks set to continue as they have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their previous eight games, registering only one win in that stretch.

Up against the worst team in the Premier Division, the Blues can fancy their chances of snapping their three-game winless run.

John Coleman is expected to stick with his 3-5-2 formation from last week, with his two most attacking threats, Padraig Amond and Tom Lonergan, at the frontier.

Predicted lineup: Wade (GK), Leahy, Boyle, McDonald, Burke, Noonan, Olayinka, Glenfield, Horton, Amond & Lonergan.

Cork City preview: Eyeing their first away win

Coach Nash is still on the hunt for his first win this weekend after five defeats and three draws in his first eight games in charge of Cork City.

City suffered a 2-1 defeat to Celtic in a friendly on Tuesday which extended the club's winless streak to 13 games. Bottom of the table with only 15 points after 23 league matches, Nash is under pressure to turn the team's fortunes around.

Charlie Lyon’s sending off in the loss to Shelbourne last Friday means the captain is suspended for this clash. Besides this, there are no major absentees for the visitors.

Predicted lineup: Brann (GK), Kiernan, Kelleher, Anderson, Crowley, Mbeng, Murray, Bolger, Nelson, Nolan & Maguire.

Padraig Amond scored both of Waterford's goals in their disappointing 7-2 defeat at Derry City last time out. The former Newport County forward has been in sensational form, scoring five goals and providing an assist in his last six appearances. Amond is the joint-top scorer in the Irish top flight with 10 goals. He will fancy his chances against one of the league's worst defences.
