Vitoria are rock bottom of Serie A after a disappointing start to the new campaign in Brazil, though they did manage to break their duck for the season with a victory over Internacional in their last outing. Despite their triumph, they remain 21/10 underdogs ahead of Thursday’s clash with Atletico MG.
Atletico MG were thumped 4-0 at home by Palmeiras in their last test, however, they did lose two players to red cards. The visitor’s squad looks a little depleted ahead of this week’s challenge, though the bookies have still given them a 40% chance of winning at Vitoria. Last five H2Hs: Recent meetings have been sparse
Vitoria and Atletico MG haven’t locked horns since 2018. Vitoria came out on top in three of their last four encounters with Atletico MG, however, those meetings took place too long ago to be much of a factor this week.

Player to watch – Renzo Saravia
With Otavio away with Brazil at the Copa America, Renzo Saravia will have extra responsibility to bear in midfield for Atletico MG on Thursday. The Argentinean anchorman, who has been averaging 3.30 tackles per game in Serie A, could have more defensive work to get through at Vitoria.

Saravia brings muscle
31-year-old Renzo Saravia is a tough tackler in midfield for Atletico MG and though he has only been carded twice this term, we expect his cautions tally to climb soon. Saravia picked up eight yellow cards in Serie A last season and he could be decent card candidate again this week.
