Viking suffered a 3-1 defeat against Stuttgart in the first round of Champions League fixtures, a game in which they conceded three times between the 20th and 32nd minutes.

The hosts have at least been exceptional in the Elitserien, with the club leading the Norwegian top flight, though their tally of 53 points means they only lead second-placed Bodo/Glimt due to goal difference.

Head coach Morten Jensen will at least be pleased by his side's response to that defeat given they come into their next clash on the back of four consecutive wins.

Should Viking use a double pivot, it would not be surprising to see Joe Bell partnered by Kristoffer Askildsen.

Bayern Munich were held to a 2-2 stalemate by Augsburg on the weekend, and the result could easily have been worse given their opponents produced a number of opportunities in the final third.

Boss Vincent Kompany will argue that his players let themselves down rather than being outplayed, especially as veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made two costly errors in the buildup to both Augsburg goals.

The Bavarians have never faced Viking, though they did meet Norwegian opponents in this season's Champions League, beating Bodo/Glimt 5-0 on September 10.

That victory was one of the club's six wins in 2026-27, with the team settling for draws in their other two fixtures this term.

The only injury concern for Kompany is attacker Jamal Musiala, who is dealing with a thigh problem, so perhaps fans will see Ismael Saibari in an advanced role behind Harry Kane.

Whispers predicts: Viking FK 1-4 Bayern Munich

Though Viking will be dreaming of a famous victory, it is easy to see why the bookmakers have priced a Bayern win at 1/12 (1.08)

Considering both teams have scored in four of Bayern's five away games this term, it would make sense to back Both Teams to Score at 7/10 (1.7).

Bayern have netted at least four goals in four of their eight games this season, and that makes a prediction of Over 3.5 Goals for Bayern Munich at 4/5 (1.8) sensible.

Given Bayern have trailed or been level at half time with their opponents in three of their last five matches, perhaps backing a Draw at Half Time at 3/1 (4) could be the way to go.

📈 Viking FK vs. Bayern Munich — Whispers' Tips

> Both Teams to Score at 7/10 (1.7) | Likelihood: High

> Over 3.5 Goals for Bayern Munich at 4/5 (1.8) | Likelihood: Medium

> Draw at Half Time at 3/1 (4) | Likelihood: Low
