This is a match nobody in Italy is looking forward to, particularly Verona fans.

It has been a disastrous campaign for the Gialloblu, whose chances of beating the drop to Serie B are now remote, at best, after winning just three matches all season.

The club have flirted with relegation in each of the last three seasons, so nobody can say this wasn't coming, and the hierarchy have likely been planning life in Serie B from the moment they sacked Paolo Zanetti in February.

Interim boss, Paolo Sammarco, has done very little to suggest he will lead them into the second tier next season, but he will be desperate to record at least one home victory before he moves on in the summer.

For the match with Lecce, Sammarco is expected to be without Gift Orban after the striker was involved in an altercation with a Verona supporter last week. Meanwhile, Daniel Mosquera, Suat Serdar, Tomas Suslov and Daniel Oyegoke are all injured.

The match on Saturday almost certainly means more to Lecce, who are very much still with a chance of beating the drop and extending their stay in Serie A.

Like Verona, they are used to competing at this end of the table, but after three seasons of narrowly avoiding the drop, could it be their time for another stint in the second tier of Italian football?

I Giallorossi earned a point against Fiorentina last week to end a run of four straight league defeats, and Eusebio Di Francesco will be hopeful that they can go one better this week by winning all three and moving out of the relegation zone.

Di Francesco will be without Tiago Gabriel due to suspension, and Kialonda Gaspar, Sadik Fofana and Medon Berisha due to injury.
