Vancouver Whitecaps vs Los Angeles FC prediction: First win in four H2Hs for the Maroons?
Key stats
- Vancouver Whitecaps are on a two-match winning run.
- The Caps have lost just once across their last 10 home clashes.
- LAFC are undefeated in three straight MLS fixtures (D1, W2).
- The Black and Gold have lost only one of their last 10 MLS matches.
Correct score prediction: Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 Los Angeles FC
Vancouver Whitecaps’ have bounced back from their rare setback against FC Dallas last month, winning back-to-back games, as they prepare to play . Since taking over at the start of this year, Jesper Sorensen has exceeded expectations, but the arrival of LAFC is no good omen.
The visitors are riding a three-match unbeaten streak, with their defeat to Austin FC in October their only defeat in 10 outings. However, they have been less than impressive away from home, winning only one of their last three trips on the road.
This will be the third consecutive year that Vancouver and LAFC meet in the MLS Cup play-offs, and we expect a hard-fought encounter where Vancouver emerge victorious despite LAFC threatening to put them to the sword.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Vancouver for the victory
- HOME: 11/10 (2.10) – 47.6%
- DRAW: 5/2 (3.50) – 28.5%

Vancouver come into this clash as favourites, thanks to their home advantage and form which has seen them lose just once in 10 matches at BC Place. The hosts are backed with odds of 11/10 (2.10) – suggesting a 47.6% win probability rate.
The visitors have found the back of the net in all but one of their last 15 games across all competitions, but it will perhaps take more than that to overcome the hosts. Bookmakers back LAFC to take the loss here, with a 34.8% probability of victory assigned to them

Player to watch: Thomas Muller

Muller has excelled with the Caps – registering eight goals and three assists across the regular MLS season and beyond. Since his debut in August, only Lionel Messi, Bouanga, Son Heung-min and Anders Dreyer have posted more total goal contributions. Vancouver have lost only one game with Muller in the starting eleven, and his presence will prove extremely significant as Vancouver eye back-to-back H2H wins over LAFC.
