Union Saint-Gilloise dominated their opening game of the season away at newly-promoted Dender but failed to take on of their chances and had to settle for a point.
Beerschot were under the cosh for the majority of their home game against Leuven but managed to come away with a share of the spoils on their return to the First Division A.
Friday's hosts will be desperate to secure all three points when they take on Beerschot, while the visitors would be more than happy to come away with another draw.

Union SG preview: Have to take their chances
Union SG absolutely dominated Dender in their own backyard last weekend yet both teams came away with a point apiece.
The visitors had 69% of the overall possession against the newly promoted club, 12 shots to Dender's five and Union's Luxembourg international goalkeeper Anthony Moris didn't make a single save during the 90 minutes.
Union allowed last season's top goalscorer Mohamed Amoura to go on loan to Wolfsburg for the 2024/25 campaign and how they missed the Algerian international against Dender.
Predicted lineup: Moris (GK), Machida, Mac Allister, Leysen, Castro-Montes, Puertas, Vanhoutte, Sadiki, Eckert Ayensa, Kabangu & Teklab

Beerschot preview: Need to keep things tight at the back
Despite having the home advantage against Leuven for their first game back in the top flight of Belgian football, Beerschot were outplayed and lucky to come away with a point.
Leuven didn't dominate possession but they did have nine shots to Beerschot's one as well as six corners to the hosts' two.
Beerschot simply can't afford another performance like that when they make the trip to Union Saint-Gilloise on Friday night.
Predicted lineup: Matijaš (GK), Tshimanga, Matthys, Plat, Konstantopoulos, Sanusi, Cagro, Verlinden, Reyners, Keita & Michez

Player to watch – Cameron Puertas
Union SG are going to need their chief playmaker to be at his very best on Friday if the title-challengers are to secure their first win of the new season.
Cameron Puertas was the most creative player in the First Division A last season and played the full 90 minutes against Dender last weekend.
Puertas needs to be at his creative best on Friday
We're backing Puertas to put in a commanding display from the heart of the Union SG midfield on Friday, one that will help guide his team to their first league win of the season.
