Twente will kick off their European campaign on Thursday, when they host Ferencvaros for the first leg of their Europa League second-qualifying-round tie.
The visitors have already navigated through a two-legged first-round tie to reach this stage while the Dutch hosts will play their first competitive football of the 2026-27 term.

Twente will play their first competitive game of 2026-27 on Thursday as they look to get their continental campaign up and running with a home win.
They earned entry into Europa League qualifying in the second round with a fourth-placed finish in the 2025-26 Eredivisie, finishing on 58 points from their 34 outings.
De Tuckers missed out on Europe all together last term, after entering the Europa League in the league phase in 2024-25, progressing to the knockout playoff round having finished 23rd with two wins, four draws and two defeats before falling short against Bodo/Glimt, losing 6-4 on aggregate after extra time having won the first leg 2-1 at home.
Their home form was encouraging domestically last time around, too, winning nine and losing just three of their Eredivisie games at De Grolsch Veste, and they head into the new term with somewhat of a different group, having seen key defender Mats Rots and experienced forward Ricky van Wolfswinkel depart while Ramiz Zerrouki, Aske Adelgaard, Wout Weghorst and veteran goalkeeper Remko Pasveer have arrived to bolster the ranks.
John van den Brom's team will now bid to get up and running after a mixed run of pre-season friendlies and take advantage on home soil to gain an edge in their first qualifying tie.
The visitors, meanwhile, arrive with a first-round win under their belt and their own sights set on the next stage of qualifying.
Ferencvaros entered Europa League qualifying in the first round after a second-placed finish in the 2025-26 Hungarian NB1, ending a run of seven straight league titles as they finished a point short of winners Gyor.
That was despite their league-best away record, having won 12 and lost just two of their 17 domestic games on the road, and they followed that up in their away leg of the prior round to begin qualifying, beating Vojvodina 2-1 to take an advantage back to Hungary.
Balazs Borbely's side built on that with a comfortable 3-0 home win to get over the line in the tie, with Kristoffer Zachariassen scoring in each leg and Dele, Lenny Joseph and Zsombor Gruber also on the scoresheet.
Now heading into the next round with a tougher test awaiting, Ferencvaros will hope to continue their winning run and pull off another impressive result in their visit to the Netherlands.

Twente will feel they must make the most of home advantage in the two-legged qualifying tie and won their final two home games of their last Europa League campaign and nine of 17 in the Eredivisie in 2025-26. We back them to win the game at 13/20 (1.65).
Ferencvaros do often impress away from home, though, winning the last away leg 2-1 and scoring 34 goals in 17 away league games last year. With momentum on their side against a Twente side yet to play a competitive game this season, we back the Hungarian team to also get on the scoresheet and fancy Both Teams to Score at 5/6 (1.83).
If the visitors are able to break through, it may well come through midfielder Kristoffer Zachariassen, who has already found scoring form this season with a goal in each leg in the first round playing as part of a front three and found the net in their last two league games of the season in May. He seems great value to score anytime at 11/2 (6.50).
