Bodo/Glimt preview: Score plenty of goals

Bodo/Glimt won't be too down-hearted following their 2-1 defeat in the Netherlands last week as the Scandinavians have goals in them, especially at home.

A late goal from Patrick Berg looked like it had earned the Norwegians a 1-1 draw in the first leg only for Twente to be awarded a spot-kick deep into stoppage time, which the hosts converted.

Forward Samuel Burakovsky has a groin injury that looks set to keep him out of action until late March.

Predicted lineup: Haikin (GK), Gundersen, Bjorkan, Didrik Blomberg, Nielsen, Saltnes, Berg, Evjen, Sjovold, Hauge & Hogh

Twente preview: Needed a stoppage-time penalty

Twente took the lead against Bodo/Glimt after just five minutes through Tunisian midfielder Sayfallah Ltaief but ended up conceding an 85th-minute equaliser, which could have proved very costly had Ricky van Wolfswinkel not converted a dramatic stoppage-time penalty to restore the Dutch side's one goal advantage.

On the balance of play, Twente certainly deserved to take a lead into the second leg against Bodo/Glimt but it might not be enough to see them progress into the last 16.

Younes Taha is expected to miss the trip to Norway this week due to a lower leg injury.

Predicted lineup: Unnerstall (GK), Kuipers, Lagerbielke, van Rooij, Sadílek, Vlap, Steijn, Hilgers, Ltaief, van Wolfswinkel & Rots

Player to watch: Patrick Berg

Patrick Berg added a few more goals to his game this season and that has certainly played its part in an excellent campaign for Bodo/Glimt as they clinched the Eliteserien title.

Berg, whose best goal tally in the league previously was four which he achieved during the 2020 season, finished the 2024 campaign with nine league goals as well as two more in the Europa League.

Bodo/Glimt's combative midfielder has a goal in him

We're expecting Bodfo/Glimt's combative midfield general to put in a top-quality performance on Thursday night, one that could help guide his team into the last 16.
