Round 10 of the 2025-26 Eredivisie season sees an out-of-sorts Ajax visit De Grolsch Veste to face off against Twente on Sunday in search of a return to winning ways.
On the other hand, Twente will set out on home turf this weekend aiming to continue their recent resurgence that has seen them pick up 11 of the last 15 points available.

Twente vs Ajax prediction: Tukkers to further plunge visitors into downward spiral
Key stats
- Twente have not lost any of their last five matches dating back to the September international break.
- Ajax are winless in their last four outings across all competitions.
- Both Ajax and Twente have been defensively porous of late, with the hosts without a clean sheet in 10 matches, while the away side have gone nine matches since their last shutout.
Correct score prediction: Twente 3-1 Ajax
Ajax's bright start to the season has gone out of the window in recent weeks, and the Dutch giants could really do with a confidence-boosting victory this weekend.
However, this weekend's opponents are in no mood to do their visitors any favour, and we can see Twente carrying the day when all is said and done.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Twente favourites, but don't count Ajax out
- HOME: 13/10 (2.30) – 43.5%
- DRAW: 13/5 (3.60) – 27.8%
- AWAY: 9/5 (2.80) – 35.7%
*Odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
Only Feyenoord and PSV Eindhoven have recorded more points over the last five Eredivisie gameweeks than Twente, and it is no surprise that they are the bookies' choice to come out on top here with a home win priced at 13/10 (2.30).
Since taking over from Joseph Oosting, John van den Brom has made a bright start to his managerial stint, but came close to suffering a first defeat against NEC last time out, where Ricky van Wolfswinkel netted a stoppage-time penalty to force a 3-3 draw.
Fresh from their maiden league defeat of the campaign against AZ Alkmaar, Ajax suffered consecutive losses for the first time this year, following a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Chelsea in their third Champions League outing.
Johnny Heitinga's men have not lost three straight matches in two years, although a 35.7% win probability hints there is little confidence that it will stay that way at the end of the final whistle this weekend.

Most recent H2Hs: Host eyeing first win in four meetings
Ajax came from behind on two occasions to secure a 2-2 draw in the first of last season's clashes against Twente before ending the campaign with a 2-0 triumph over Sunday's opponents.
As a result, De Godenzonen are now unbeaten in the last three editions of this fixture since suffering consecutive defeats in May and September 2023.

Twente preview: Sam Lammers's return to action provides timely boost
Having been sidelined since March with a shoulder issue, Sam Lammers made his comeback in Twente's last outing against NEC.
The 28-year-old has scored 18 goals in 41 matches on his return to Dutch football after earlier spells with PSV and Heerenveen.
Meanwhile, Max Bruns, Mees Hilgers and Mathias Kjolo are expected to miss out, while Mats Rots is a doubt.
Predicted lineup: Unnerstall(GK), Van Rooij, Nijstad, Propper, Kuipers, Zerrouki, Van den Belt, Booth, Hlynsson, Orjasaeter & Van Wolfswinkel
Twente's last five matches:
- NEC 3-3 Twente (Eredivisie)
- Twente 2-1 Heracles (Eredivisie)
- Twente 3-2 Sittard (Eredivisie)
- Sparta Rotterdam 1-5 Twente (Eredivisie)
- Twente 2-2 NAC (Eredivisie)
Ajax preview: Heitinga in need of urgent solution
Back at the helm of affairs at the Johan Cruyff Arena, Heitinga is currently facing one of his toughest periods as a manager.
The Dutch manager will need to steady the ship and get his side back on track sooner rather than later.
Heitinga will be without Steven Berghuis (groin), Kasper Dolberg (abdomen) and Branco van den Boomen (back) for Sunday's trip to Enschede.
Predicted lineup: Jaros(GK), Mokio, Baas, Sutalo, Rosa, Taylor, Gloukh, Klaassen, Godts, Weghorst & Moro
Ajax's last five matches:
- Chelsea 5-1 Ajax (Champions League)
- Ajax 0-2 AZ (Eredivisie)
- Sparta Rotterdam 3-3 Ajax (Eredivisie)
- Marseille 4-0 Ajax (Eredivisie)
- Ajax 2-1 NAC (Eredivisie)
Player to watch – Ricky van Wolfswinkel
After a slow start to the season, which saw him go four matches without a goal, Van Wolfswinkel has turned a corner.
The Dutchman's double against NEC last time out means he has now scored five times in his last five matches and continues to go strong at the age of 36.

Only Ayase Ueda has recorded more Eredivisie goals this term than Van Wolfswinkel, who is in the final year of his contract but could very well be offered an extension based on current form.
