Strasbourg – Toulouse Preview: Latest Form, News, and Potential Lineups

Read all of the latest injury updates and team news for this duel, including our predicted Strasbourg vs Toulouse lineups.

Strasbourg

Showed mixed form in the first two rounds. Opened the campaign with a decent 2-1 home win vs Lyon. However, last weekend pretty poor on their visit to Monaco and deservedly lost 0-3.

Had the second-worst home record in the top flight last season and looking for much better results at home this year after opening their campaign with a home win.

Strasbourg will be missing 2 of their main defenders for this match. Both Sahi and Bastian are recovering from injuries. Guilbert and Mothiba also struggled with knocks after the last match but they have recovered well and will be available.

Predicted Lineup:

Sels (GK), Guilbert, Doukoure, Nyamsi, Sylla, Delaine, Diarra, Deminguet, Bellegarde, Mothiba & Gameiro

Toulouse

Toulouse played well when hosting champions PSG last weekend and deserved the 1-1 draw that was registered. The Violets even took the lead in this match but late on they dropped way too deep.

Both displays so far have been good and Toulouse are starting the season in fine form.

Last season Toulouse won 2-1 on their visit to Strasbourg. However, this was their first win in this fixture in the last 10 meetings.

The squad is practically at full strength with only the fringe players Zanden and Cissoko ruled out due to injuries.

Predicted Lineup:

Restes (GK), Desler, Costa, Nicolaisen, Diarra, Suazo, Aboukhlal, Casseres, Sierro, Magri & Dalinga

Player to Watch: Zakaria Aboukhlal

Toulouse’s winger Zakaria Aboukhlal had been impressive so far. He scored last weekend and over the first 2 rounds, 78% of the big chances created had Aboukhlal involved in them.

He also finished last season in fine form with 5 goals in May and June. All that makes us believe that Abouhlal will be heavily involved again.
