Tottenham intensify their search for a creative forward and have identified a €57m-rated French starlet as a top target.

Linked with a departure from AS Monaco last summer and notably tracked by PSG, Maghnes Akliouche ultimately stayed at the Principality club. The 23-year-old winger remains an undisputed starter, whether under Adi Hutter or now Sebastien Pocognoli. He has played 23 matches this season, scoring three goals and providing five assists.

The France international continues to attract interest on the market, now that the January window has opened its doors. While Akliouche is among the three ideal signings suggested for PSG alongside Ismael Doukoure and Manu Kone, it is an English club that is making moves to sign him.

According to TeamTalk, Tottenham are intensifying their search for attacking reinforcements in January. Spurs, who currently sit 13th in the Premier League, have been struggling to score and have netted just two goals in their last four matches.

The Spurs attack, weakened by injuries and suspensions, is in need of a creative forward. They are therefore considering Maghnes Akliouche, who represents a less expensive alternative to Yan Diomande. The British outlet reports that the London club are pushing to sign the Monaco man and notably sent scouts to watch him on Saturday in the clash against Lyon (1-3).

Akliouche could leave Monaco in January

Tottenham are therefore searching for a creative and promising forward. The French winger, who was already on Tottenham's radar last summer, ticks both boxes. Spurs appear ready to try their luck again this winter, perhaps with more success. Indeed, Monaco, who sit ninth, are going through a difficult spell, with a fire sale reportedly planned during this window.

This situation could therefore benefit Tottenham, although it is still too early to determine whether Spurs, who have other targets for the position, will make a move for Akliouche. It should be noted that the Monaco man would cost over €57m (£50m) this winter, according to TeamTalk.
