Bayern Munich vs Tottenham Hotspur prediction: Close encounter in pre-season friendly
Key Stats
- Spurs are yet to lose in preseason, winning two and drawing three of their friendlies so far.
- Bayern have only won 7 of their last 13 competitive matches, with some of those victories coming against weak opposition such as Auckland City, Heidenheim and Hoffenheim.
Correct score prediction: Bayern Munich 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Bayern only played their first friendly of preseason at the weekend, while Spurs have been in regular action since mid-July, meaning they are in a much more advanced stage of preparation for the new season, and that could make this a much closer affair than many may expect.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Bookies backing Bayern
- HOME: 1/2 (1.50) – 66.7%

Unsurprisingly, given the fact that they are Bundesliga champions, and Spurs finished 17th last season in the Premier League, Bayern are the clear favourites for this friendly.
Spurs are yet to lose in preseason though, and Bayern only narrowly got past Lyon at the weekend, so a close encounter could be in store, with a draw offering excellent value at 3/1.

Most recent H2Hs: Bayern have been dominant
Before 2019, the two had only met during the Cup Winners Cup and the UEFA Cup in the early 1980s, with both clubs winning a respective tie each.
However, the two have become more accustomed recently, especially in the 2019-20 Champions League, when Bayern beat Spurs 7-2 in North London on their way to topping the section with a 100% record.
There have also been three friendlies between the sides over the past half-decade, including two last summer, both of which ended in victory for Bayern.

Player to watch: Harry Kane

All eyes will be on Kane here, as he lines up against his former opponents fresh from scoring over 40 goals yet again in Bavaria last season.
Kane only played the final 10 minutes of one of the friendlies against Spurs last year, so is set to have more of an impact this time around, as Bayern get back into full flow ahead of the new campaign.
