🔥 Our Hot tip

HT/FT Draw/Torino

We expect a closely contested match, with Torino coming out on top in the second half.

Torino and Lecce meet at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino on Saturday, 7 November, with both sides desperate to halt a run of disappointing Serie A results.

Ignazio Abate’s Torino have lost twice in succession after three straight victories, raising questions about whether home advantage can help them recover.

Eusebio Di Francesco’s Lecce arrive on the back of three consecutive defeats, and their defensive problems suggest neither side will find this an easy afternoon.

Abate’s side appeared to have found their rhythm with wins over Udinese, Parma and Monza, but defeats to Como and Frosinone have abruptly halted that momentum.

The 2-0 loss at Frosinone last weekend was particularly disappointing after Torino had scored in each of their preceding four league games.

The Olimpico has hardly been a fortress this season, with the Granata winning twice and losing three times in their first five home league matches.

Nevertheless, Torino’s recent home record against Lecce is encouraging, and another positive result would offer a timely response to their latest setbacks.

Ché Adams and Giovanni Simeone are both tipped to start in attack, although Abate could make changes elsewhere following two successive defeats.

Simeone’s movement inside the penalty area could prove important against a Lecce defence that has already conceded 21 goals in ten league matches.

Di Francesco has problems of his own after defeats to Juventus, Frosinone and Genoa left the visitors searching for an immediate reaction.

The 5-1 defeat away to Frosinone exposed Lecce’s difficulties, and the subsequent 2-1 home loss to Genoa provided little relief.

Gaspar is available again following suspension, while Coulibaly, Pierotti and Geubbels are among the players whose fitness remains a concern.

Lecce have still won two of their first five away league fixtures, showing that Torino cannot rely on home advantage alone.

With both teams under pressure and neither defence particularly convincing, a competitive first half followed by a decisive Torino breakthrough looks plausible.

Whispers predicts: Torino 2-1 Lecce

Torino’s inconsistent results make a straightforward home win difficult to trust, but we expect Abate’s side to edge a hard-fought contest 2-1.

Our Hot Tip is Half-Time Draw / Full-Time Torino at 5.00, a particularly interesting price for a tight contest in which the hosts eventually find a way through after the break.

Over 2.5 Goals at 1.85 offers a more conventional alternative, with seven of each side’s first ten Serie A matches producing at least three goals.

Giovanni Simeone Anytime Scorer at 2.50 also appeals, with the Italian-Argentine expected to lead the line against a side conceding an average of 2.1 league goals per game.

Torino have already lost three home matches, however, and Lecce have twice won away, so the predicted recovery is by no means guaranteed.
