First-half draw

First-half draws have been played in three of their last five meetings.

On Sunday, Serie A will witness a relegation battle for survival between Torino and Lecce at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, with the home side desperate to arrest a worrying slump in form.

The host endured a miserable weekend as a heavy 6-0 defeat to Como marked their worst Serie A loss since being thrashed 7-0 by AC Milan in 2021. That collapse extended their league losing run to four matches, with the last three matches ending without a single goal.

Starting this round in 16th place, Marco Baroni’s side are now glancing nervously over their shoulders, holding just a six-point advantage over the relegation zone.

Home form offers little reassurance, with five defeats in their last six league games on their own turf, and they have also failed to win either home fixture this season against sides starting below them in the table, raising further doubts about a swift turnaround.

Lecce, meanwhile, halted a four-match losing streak with a hard-earned 0-0 draw against Lazio, a result that lifted them out of the bottom three despite leaving them as Serie A’s lowest scorers with just 13 goals.

Survival remains far from secure, though, as they begin this round only one point clear of 18th place. Away from home, the Salentini have struggled badly, losing four of their last five league matches on the road while scoring just once.

Even so, there is a sliver of optimism for the visitors, as both of their away league victories this season have come against teams that start the round in the bottom six.

Torino vs Lecce prediction: Expect a draw in this game

Key statistics

  • Three of their last five meetings have ended in a first-half draw.
  • Under 2.5 goals have been played in four of their last five meetings.
  • Lecce's last Serie A game ended in a full-time draw.

Correct score prediction: Torino 1-1 Lecce

We expect a tense and cagey affair in this game, as both teams are prioritising defensive stability after recent setbacks. We predict a 1-1 draw between Torino and Lecce based on the both side's lack of confidence.

While both teams could find the net, their current defensive disarray suggests they will struggle to keep a clean sheet even against a low-scoring Lecce outfit.

Given that Torino has the worst defensive record in the league currently, a score draw appears to be the most logical outcome as both managers look to avoid a demoralising defeat.

Pre-match odds and win probability: Torino favoured at home

  • Home: 10/11 (1.91) – 52.4%
  • Draw: 11/5 (3.20) – 31.3%
  • Away: 17/5 (4.40) – 22.7%

*Odds provided by Ladbrokes. Subject to change.*

Torino head into this clash as favourites, with odds of 1.91 suggesting a 52.4% chance of victory. Lecce are priced at 4.40, reflecting their underdog status on the road, while the draw remains a realistic outcome at 3.20. Bookmakers expect Torino to control proceedings, but not without resistance and there is a chance the game could end in a stalemate.

Most recent head-to-head: Balanced record

The historical data show that recent meetings have swung back and forth between these two sides. Looking at their last five competitive meetings, Torino have secured two wins, Lecce have managed two wins and there has been one draw.

However, Lecce have had the upper hand in their last two meetings, winning both. The most recent clash in November 2025 ended in a 2-1 home victory for Lecce, following a 1-0 win for the Salentini in May 2025.

Torino preview: Injury issues and selection doubts

Torino’s attacking resources could be stretched, with Cyril Ngonge expected to depart and Giovanni Simeone still sidelined by a thigh problem.

Marco Baroni is also without midfielders Ivan Ilic and Gvidas Gineitis, while Zakaria Aboukhlal, Adam Masina, and Ardian Ismajli remain major doubts ahead of kick-off, further complicating selection decisions.

Predicted lineup: Paleari (GK), Tameze, Maripan, Coco, Pedersen, Casadei, Ilkhan, Lazaro, Vlasic, Adams & Zapata

Last five fixtures

  • 24.01.26 – Como 6–0 Torino
  • 18.01.26 – Torino 0–2 AS Roma
  • 13.01.26 – AS Roma 2–3 Torino (Coppa Italia)
  • 10.01.26 – Atalanta 2–0 Torino
  • 07.01.26 – Torino 1–2 Udinese

Lecce preview: Key absences in the team

Lecce are preparing to integrate several new faces, with Matteo Prati set to replace the departing Kristjan Asllani, though the midfielder is unlikely to feature this weekend.

More immediately, new signings Walid Cheddira, Omri Gandelman, and Sadik Fofana are all in contention. Cheddira has arrived as cover for teenage striker Francesco Camarda, who is expected to miss up to three months following shoulder surgery, and he will compete with Nikola Stulic to lead the Salentini’s attack.

Aside from Camarda, Medon Berisha is the only other confirmed absentee for Lecce, while Kialonda Gaspar returns from suspension. However, squad changes could continue, with several players — most notably Mohamed Kaba — expected to leave before the winter transfer window closes.

Predicted lineup: Falcone (GK), Veiga, Gabriel, Gaspar, Gallo, Coulibaly, Ramadani, Pierotti, Gandelman, Banda & Stulic

Last five fixtures

  • 24.01.26 – Lecce 0–0 Lazio
  • 18.01.26 – AC Milan 1–0 Lecce
  • 14.01.26 – Inter 1–0 Lecce
  • 11.01.26 – Lecce 1–2 Parma
  • 06.01.26 – Lecce 0–2 AS Roma

Player to watch: Nikola Vlasic

Nikola Vlasic is currently the most creative and consistent performer for the home side. The Croatian international has recorded five goals and two assists during the 2025/2026 campaign, making him the top overall contributor to the team's offensive output.

He has remained a focal point for the Granata's attacks, providing the vision and passing range required to break down stubborn defences. We expect him to help Torino as they seek to rebuild their confidence and find a way through in this game.
