Early in the summer, Flamengo right-back Wesley Franca was strongly linked with a move to Manchester City, who view the Brazilian as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker. However, Brighton & Hove Albion have made a move to overtake City in the race for the 21-year-old's signature.

According to The Telegraph, the Seagulls have made a bid in the region of £20million for the young right-back. It is understood that Flamengo are prepared to sell Wesley, with the player keen on moving to Europe and playing in the Premier League. Bayern join Gittens chase

Before the Club World Cup kicked off, Chelsea showed serious interest in signing Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and even saw their bid turned down by the Germans. It remains to be seen if they will revisit a deal, and now there's a new player in the race.

Arsenal interested in Norgaard

Arsenal are set to sign Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, but the Gunners have so far yet to convince Thomas Partey to sign a new contract. Mikel Arteta is desperate to keep the Ghanaian at the Emirates but his current deal expires this month.

The Mirror reports Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard is among the midfield targets the North Londoners could consider moving for if Partey leaves the club. Scott McTominay has been a revelation for Napoli, playing a crucial role in leading Antonio Conte's side to a scudetto in his maiden season in Naples. The Scotland international made headlines with his goalscoring prowess and has now attracted interest from Saudi Arabia.

Pogba ready to join Monaco

Paul Pogba's doping ban was reduced to 18 months by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in October of last year and he has been free to make a return to professional football since March. However, the Frenchman has taken a lot of time to pick his next club after leaving Juventus, and it appears an agreement has finally been reached.
