Dinamo Zagreb will be aiming to take a significant step towards the Champions League league phase when they travel to Switzerland to face FC Thun in the first leg of their second qualifying-round tie on Tuesday night.
FC Thun booked their place in the Champions League qualifiers after lifting the Swiss Super League title for the first time in their 128-year history last season.
Dinamo Zagreb, meanwhile, reclaimed the Prva HNL crown by winning the title for a record-extending 26th time last season, bouncing back after surrendering the championship to Hajduk Split in the 2024-25 campaign.

At one stage, FC Thun appeared to be heading towards extinction, but thanks to investment from Chinese multi-club owner Chien Lee and board member Beat Fahrni, the club have transformed their fortunes and re-established themselves as a competitive force.
After securing promotion to the Swiss top flight in the 2024-25 campaign, Thun completed a remarkable rise by winning the Super League title the following season, finishing five points clear of St Gallen after 38 matches.
Gian-Luca Privitelli's side looked set to cruise to the championship after opening up a 14-point lead with five games remaining, although a run of four consecutive defeats followed by a draw on the final day meant they had to settle the title race in far less convincing fashion.
Interestingly, Thun scored 80 goals and conceded 52 while losing 11 league matches last season, highlighting both their attacking quality and defensive vulnerabilities, but they are more than capable of posing a stern challenge to Dinamo Zagreb.
Dinamo Zagreb cruised to the Croatian league title last season, collecting 86 points from 36 matches to finish 18 points clear of second-placed Hajduk Split.
They dominated at both ends of the pitch, scoring a league-high 93 goals while conceding just 23, the fewest of any side, as they comfortably reclaimed the championship.
Their Europa League campaign, however, ended in disappointment, with Zagreb falling short of the last 16 after suffering a 6-4 aggregate defeat to Genk despite producing a spirited display across both legs.
