Platense preview: Struggling for goals

Platense managed to defeat Boca Juniors 1-0 in their last league game, moving ahead of the Argentine giants as a result, but face an even trickier game against Talleres on Friday.

The visitors have only managed to score three goals in their last six outings across all competitions and go up against a Talleres side that have kept four clean sheets in their last six attempts, so you can see why the odds are against an away win in this game.

Predicted lineup: Cozzani (GK), Pignani, Vázquez, Saborido, Marcich, Juárez, Gómez, Ocampo, Picco, Martínez & Pellegrino

Player to watch – Ramon Sosa

Ramon Sosa has been one of Talleres' brightest players in the early stages of the 2024 Liga Profesional.

The Paraguay forward has chipped in with six goals and five assists this year making him a key player in terms of both creating and finishing off chances for the title hopefuls.

Sosa made the move to Argentina from his homeland in 2022, signing for Gimnasia La Plata but things didn't really work out for the attacker and he moved to Talleres de Cordoba in 2023.

Talleres' Paraguayan forward has impressed in 2024

With eight goals in his debut season for Talleres, Sosa looks likely to improve on that tally in 2024 and we're backing the Paraguayan to lead his team to glory against Platense on Friday.
