Mexico have a perfect three wins from three against Suriname, and considering they have won their last four competitive matches, we are confident that Javier Aguirre's troops will claim all the spoils.
However, it is also worth mentioning that Suriname have scored in five consecutive games, so we should expect goals at both ends.

Mexico and Suriname were paired alongside Costa Rica and Dominican Republic in Group A of the 2025 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
Having lost their opening game, this is a must-win for Suriname; any other result will most likely eliminate them from this competition.
On the other hand, with a victory, Mexico could potentially secure a place in the knockout stages with one game left to play, depending on the outcome of Dominican Republic's encounter with Costa Rica.
Ahead of this skirmish, Mexico are the expected winners at 1/3 (1.33). Teams with these odds generally have a 75% probability of winning.

Suriname preview: Hoping to get back on track
Suriname will aim to recover from a 4-3 defeat to Costa Rica in their Gold Cup opener when they face Mexico in their second group match.
Changes are expected from head coach Stanley Menzo, as his five-man defence last time out could not stop the Costa Ricans from snatching all three points.
Despite his team's bravery in coming back from 2-0 down to lead 3-2 at some point in the game, they let themselves down with some questionable defending, worsened by a last-minute foul inside the box by Captain Dion Malone. This ensured Suriname lost all three points from a winning position.
Predicted lineup: Vaessen (GK), Haps, Pinas, Malone, Gelderen, Dijksteel, Jubitana, Paal, Margaret, Vlijter & Kerk.

Mexico preview: Changes expected
Mexico did not inspire much confidence in their first group game, conceding twice to 139th-ranked Dominican Republic in their first Group A clash.
Although Javier Aguirre's men won the contest 3-2, there was discontent and sharp criticism from the Mexican media, with many pointing to a lack of intensity, identity, and tactical coherence among the players against a low-ranked country.
While Aguirre will look to fix some obvious issues in his team's setup, the 83rd-minute injury to Cesar Montes means the defender is likely to miss Thursday's encounter, with Jesus Orozco expected to start in his absence.
AC Milan and Fulham forwards Santiago Gimenez and Raul Jimemez contributed an assist and a goal in that game, leading the charge upfront. Both players are expected to start together for El Tri's second group game as the coach looks to retain his 4-4-2 system.
Predicted lineup: Malagon (GK), Sanchez, Reyes, Orozco, Gallardo, Alvarado, Lira, Alvarez, Pineda, Gimenez & Jimenez.

Player to watch: Raul Jimemez

Raul Jimemez has scored in each of his last four competitive appearances for Mexico, bagging six goals and an assist in that stretch. The Fulham forward will look to extend that streak when these teams clash on Thursday.
