Sunderland to win

Sunderland have won three of their four home matches in the Premier League this season.

Sunderland will take on Everton in the Premier League on Monday, 3 November, as gameweek ten draws to a close.

The Black Cats will be looking to capitalise on their excellent start to the new season by picking up three points against an Everton side that have struggled of late.

As part of this week's round of Premier League betting tips, check out our Sunderland vs Everton prediction below.

Sunderland vs Everton prediction: The hosts to win again

Key Stats

  • Sunderland have picked up ten points from a possible 12 at home this season.
  • Everton have lost four of the five away matches they have played in all competitions this season.
  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in five out of Sunderland's last six games.

Correct score prediction: Sunderland 2-0 Everton

Everton have been very poor in their last two Premier League outings, while Sunderland will still be buzzing off their last-gasp win at Stamford Bridge last weekend. It's difficult to imagine anything other than a home win here.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Too close to call

  • HOME: 7/4 (2.75) – 36.4%
  • DRAW: 21/10 (3.10) – 32.3%
  • AWAY: 8/5 (2.60) – 38.5%

*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change

The Sunderland vs Everton odds paint a picture of how close this match should be on Monday. However, the odds don't seem to consider how poor the Toffees have been away from this season. Ladbrokes have given Everton a 38.5% chance of winning the match, while Sunderland have been given a 36.4% chance of victory.

Most recent H2Hs: A first meeting in eight years.

There isn't too much to learn from the recent h2h meetings between these two teams, as the last time they faced off was back in 2017. For what it's worth, Everton have won four of their last five matches against Sunderland.

Sunderland preview: Stick or twist?

Sunderland's victory at Chelsea last week came about via a change in formation to 5-4-1, and with two usual starters missing. However, with Omar Alderete and Simon Adingra now available again, will Le Bris revert back to Sunderland's usual shape or will the duo have to wait their turn to return to the fold? Aji Alese, Habib Diarra, Leo Fuhr Hjelde, Dennis Cirkin and Romain Mundle remain in the treatment room.

Predicted lineup: Roefs (GK), Hume, Mukiele, Alderete, Reinildo, Xhaka, Geertruida, Sadiki, Adingra, Isidor, Le Fee

Last five results

  • Chelsea 1-2 Sunderland
  • Sunderland 2-0 Wolves
  • Man Utd 2-0 Sunderland
  • Nottingham Forest 0-1 Sunderland
  • Sunderland 1-1 Aston Villa

Everton preview: No new issues

It's a case of more of the same for Everton, with their only two absentees for this one being Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson. Moyes has a dilemma up front with Thierno Barry and Beto both struggling so far this season, while Jack Grealish will be hoping to get back among the assists.

Predicted lineup: Pickford (GK), O'Brien, Keane, Tarkowski, Mykolenko, Gueye, Garner, Ndiaye, Dewsbury-Hall, Grealish, Beto

Last five results

  • Everton 0-3 Tottenham
  • Man City 2-0 Everton
  • Everton 2-1 Crystal Palace
  • Everton 1-1 West Ham
  • Wolves 2-0 Everton

Player to watch: Wilson Isidor

Wilson Isidor opened the scoring for Sunderland last weekend against Chelsea, and that strike moved the Frenchman onto four Premier League goals for the season. If Isidor keeps scoring at close to a goal every other game, then Sunderland will have to brace themselves for offers next summer.
