After securing the play-offs, Stevenage unfortunately missed out on promotion to the Championship, where they would have played West Ham.
Instead, they will test their resolve against the Hammers in a friendly, coming off the back of a draw against Andorra, owned by legendary Spanish footballer Gerard Pique.
Alex Revell will look to integrate new signings Terry Taylor, Josh Magennis and Oliver Sanderson in the upcoming friendlies and get them best prepared for the new season, where they will aim for promotion once more.
West Ham should provide a stern test for them, but with the Hammers on a low after relegation from the Premier League, Stevenage will look to take advantage.
Nuno Espirito Santo's job is to keep the spirits high as he aims to get his team straight back up.
They have been boosted by the news that star player and captain Jarrod Bowen has committed his future to the club, and will provide extra quality in the Championship.
However, Mateus Fernandes has been sold to Tottenham for £85m, and the likes of Crysencio Summerville have also been linked with moves away.
Edson Alvarez, El Hadji Malick Diouf and Aaron Wan-Bissaka will also be missing having played in the World Cup, but West Ham should still be able to field a strong-enough team to beat their opponents.
