Southampton vs Man City: The Predictions
Here are our Premier League predictions for Saturday's late kick-off between Southampton and Man City. Guardiola's men will be looking to pick up where they left off last weekend, smashing Liverpool 4-1, while for bottom-of-the-table Southampton it's back to the drawing board after they made it four games without a win when they lost 1-0 at West Ham.
Contents
Man City to Win-to-Nil
Our first Southampton vs Man City prediction is for an away win and a clean sheet. Man City have won three of their last five league meetings with the Saints and Guardiola's men have kept clean sheets in three of those matches as well. Southampton have failed to score in three of their last four league games and haven't picked up a league win since early March. Man City have kept clean sheets in five of their last six matches and have won each of those six games, so it's hard to see Southampton upsetting the odds this weekend.
Julian Alvarez to Score
Our second Southampton vs Man City prediction regards the anytime goalscorer market. In the absence of Erling Haaland last weekend, Julian Alvarez stepped up to score the opening goal of their comeback against Liverpool. The Argentine forward has had to play second fiddle to Haaland all season which is why he only has 6-goals in the Premier League so far. Haaland remains an injury concern and even if he does play, we expect Alvarez to get a decent amount of time on the pitch, enough to find the back of the net at least.

If you want more of our football betting tips for this game then we'd suggest checking out the Under/Over 2.5 Goals markets. Southampton vs Man City Lineups
Southampton
Southampton suffered a disappointing blow last weekend when they went down 1-0 at fellow strugglers West Ham. A solitary strike from defender Aguerd proved enough to settle the points, leaving the Saints rooted to the bottom of the table. Valentino Livramento, Armel Bella-Kotchap, Juan Larios, Mohamed Salisu and Che Adams are all injury concerns for the home side this weekend.
Predicted Lineup – Bazunu (GK), Ćaleta-Car, Bednarek, Perraud, Walker-Peters, Armstrong, Elyounoussi, Ward-Prowse, Lavia, Walcott & Mara
Man City
Man City could be without the services of Foden and Haaland this weekend but they didn't need either player last time out when they hammered Liverpool 4-1. Despite going behind in the 17th-minute, Man City were always the better side in this game and equalised through Alvarez in the 27th-minute and the sides went in level at the break. City shifted through the gears early in the second-half, taking the lad through De Bruyne in the opening minute and then making it 3-1 in the 53rd-minute through Gundogan. Grealish added the icing on what was a man-of-the-match performance when he scored the fourth goal 16-minutes from time.
Predicted Lineup – Ederson (GK), Aké, Stones, Dias, Akanji, Gündoğan, De Bruyne, Grealish, Rodri, Mahrez & Álvarez

Player to Watch: Kevin De Bruyne
Man City's Belgian star has been running the show for most games this season, controlling the tempo, chipping in with a few goals and providing more assists than any of his teammates.
The 31-year-old enjoyed another impressive performance against Liverpool last weekend, scoring and assisting, and he has now netted 4-goals in his last 8 appearances in all competitions for club and country.
I don't think we need to say any more about why De Bruyne is our player to watch in this game as we expect him to lead the Citizens to glory against the division's bottom club.
