Man City vs Southampton – Today's Top Two Tips

Man City are flying right now and up next in the Premier League for Pep's boys is a home game against a struggling Southampton side. The Saints have lost their last three league games and now face a trip to the champions who are scoring goals for fun.

Man City & Over 3.5 Goals

Man City have won three of their last five matches against Southampton in league and cup, not losing a single game during that period. Two of those victories have been in games that have produced over 4.5 goals, and we're only backing over 3.5 to be scored on Saturday. Three of Man City's last five fixtures have produced over 3.5 goals and all have ended in convincing victories for Pep's side. Southampton have lost four of their last five in the Premier League and while they haven't conceded a lot of goals during that period, they haven't gone up against Haaland and co yet.

Erling Haaland to Score a Hat-Trick

Erling Haaland has taken the Premier League by storm scoring three hat-tricks on his way to 14-goals in just eight league games. Southampton are in the midst of a poor run of form while Man City are winning games with ease and scoring goals for fun, so you can see why we're backing Haaland to score his fourth hat-trick of the season when Man City host the Saints this weekend.

Will City win big again this weekend?

In their last league games, Man City played host to their local rivals Man Utd for what turned out to be a very open 90-minutes of football. City raced into a 4-0 half-time lead thanks to braces from Halland and Foden. Antony pulled a goal back for United in the 56th-minute but both Haaland and Foden went on to complete their hat-tricks soon after to make it 6-1. Martial came off the bench to pull a goal back 6-minutes from time and then converted a stoppage-time penalty to make the final scoreline 6-3.

Man City Predicted Lineup – Ederson, Laporte, Cancelo, Aké, Akanji, Gündoğan, De Bruyne, Grealish, Silva, Foden & Haaland

Southampton were hopeful of ending their two-game losing streak at home to Everton but the Toffees turned up full of confidence and controlled the majority of the play. Against the run of play, Southampton took the lead following a goalless first half thanks to a shot from the edge of the area from Aribo in the 49th-minute. That goal only seemed to shake Everton into action and within 5-minutes the Toffees had turned the game on its head with goals from Coady and McNeil. The Saints couldn't find a way back and Everton should have put the game to bed but it didn't matter as the scoreline ended 2-1 in the visitors' favour.

Southampton Predicted Lineup – Bazunu, Ćaleta-Car, Walker-Peters, Bella-Kotchap, Larios, Armstrong, Ward-Prowse, Maitland-Niles, Aribo, Adams & Mara

Team News

Man City: The England trio of John Stones, Kalvin Phillips and Kyle Walker look set to miss Saturday's clash due to injury.
