Slavia Praha return to Champions League proceedings following a dismal campaign in 2025/26, where they failed to win a single match. That adds to their miserable European record in recent times – winless in 15 major continental matches since September 2024.
However, they enter this clash in high spirits after beginning the Czech league campaign positively.
Jindrich Trpisovsky’s men have won five of their opening seven league outings, drawing the other two. Three of those five wins have come with clean sheets.
A handful of key players are missing for Slavia Praha, including David Zima, Tomas Holes and Lukas Provod.
Lens return to play Champions League football after a two-season break in only their fourth appearance in the competition. The Coupe de France winners have been eliminated from the group stages in each of their last three UCL campaigns.
They opened their season with a heroic 1-0 win over PSG to lift the French Super Cup, following by a 5-2 thrashing of Auxerre in their Ligue 1 opener.
However, what followed was a slump, as they have now lost back-to-back league outings, most recently 1-0 to Lorient.
Lens also have a handful of players sidelined: Yacine Titraoui, Saud Abdulhamid, Matthieu Udol and Maik Nawrocki.

Whispers predicts: Slavia Praha 3-1 Lens
Florian Thauvin has been Lens’ go-to man this season, with four goals to show for already – three of them openers. Although he fired a blank against Lorient, his presence could prove significant against Slavia Praha. Backing him to score at 5/2 (3.50) carries immense value.
HT/FT – Draw/Slavia Praha at 11/2 (6.50) offers significant returns, with both sides expected to play it out cautiously before Slavia emerge on top after the interval.
Over 3.5 total goals at 2/1 (3.00) is a bet worth backing, especially as Slavia have averaged three goals per game across their opening seven matches of the 2026/27 season. Moreover, Lens have conceded 2+ goals in five of their last seven away games.
Lens have won 6+ corners in seven of their last eight away games. Over 7.5 total corners at 19/40 (1.47) offers minimal but worthwhile dividends.

> Over 7.5 total corners at 19/40 (1.47) | Likelihood: Very likely
