🔥 Our Hot tip

BTTS - Yes

Both teams have scored in four of Malmo's last six matches.

Two sides with nothing to play for go head-to-head in the final round of group games in this season's Europa League. Both Slavia Prague and Malmo have picked up four points from their seven matches so far and as a result, both have been eliminated from the competition with a game to spare.

Slavia Prague vs Malmo prediction: Goals at both ends?

Key Stats

  • Both teams have scored in three of Slavia Prague's last six fixtures.
  • The hosts have only managed to win one of their seven Europa League games this season.
  • The visitors have picked up one win in seven attempts in the Europa League group stage.

Correct score prediction: Slavia Prague 1-1 Malmo

Despite the fact that neither team has anything to play for in terms of remaining in the Europa League, there is still prize money to play for and that should motivate both clubs. With both teams playing to such a similar standard in this competition, both on four points and with goal differences in the minus, we're backing a correct score prediction of 1-1.

Most recent H2Hs: First-ever meeting

Slavia Prague and Malmo clash for the first time in their history on Thursday night and we're expecting a tight and tense 90 minutes between the pair.

Slavia Prague preview: Don't score many goals

Slavia Prague's elimination from this season's Europa League arrived at the hands of Greek side PAOK last week.

The hosts took the lead shortly before the half-hour mark via a penalty and ended any faint hopes of a Slavia Prague comeback with a second goal in the 56th minute.

Slavia's goal difference is three better off than Malmo which puts them ahead in the table but the hosts will be without midfielder Lukas Vorlicky and defender Tomas Vlcek on Thursday.

Predicted lineup: Mandous (GK), Ogbu, Zima, Konecny, Diouf, Lingr, Dorley, Doudera, Zafeiris, Pech & Chytil

Malmo preview: A poor defence has cost them

Malmo gave it their best shot last time out at home against Eredivisie side Twente but ended up coming out of this five-goal thriller on the wrong end of a 3-2 scoreline.

Twente took the lead from the penalty spot in the 28th minute but Malmo equalised and went in at the break level. However, two quick goals in the second half saw Twente establish a two-goal cushion and although Malmo pulled a goal back late on, it was all too little, too late as the Swedes were eliminated.

Goalkeeper Johan Dahlin remains sidelined with a knee injury so won't make the trip to Prague this week.

Predicted lineup: Friedrich (GK), Stryger Larsen, Rosler, Busanello, Zatterstrom, Berg, Berg Johnsen, Ali, Rosengren, Bolin & Botheim

Player to watch – Tomas Chory

Tomas Chory is a name well known in his homeland having played for such clubs as Sigma Olomouc and Viktoria Plzen but the 30-year-old made the move to Slavia Prague for the 2024/25 season where he continues to impress.

The Czech target man has scored seven times in 19 league games this season as well as chipping in with five European goals, three of which arrived in the Europa League.

Slavia's towering striker has impressed in the Europa League

Chory has scored in two of his last three outings in the Europa League and we're backing the big man to cause the Malmo defence plenty of issues on Thursday night.
