Despite having the lead at the half-time break, Sevilla were beaten 3-1 at Getafe last weekend, ending their run of back-to-back wins.

The Andalusian side have continued to struggle for consistency, having won only two of their last seven matches across all competitions (D1, L4).

Over the past month, Luis Garcia's men have dropped from third to sixth in La Liga. They have a 5-2-4 win-draw-loss record, earning 17 points from a possible 33.

Miguel Sierra (collarbone), Peque Fernandez (hamstring), and Youssouf Fofana (muscle) are confirmed out for the hosts, while Isaac Romero and Kike Salas are doubtful; furthermore, Manu Bueno is suspended following his red card in last weekend's loss to Getafe.

On the other hand, Deportivo Alaves were beaten 6-1 by Barcelona in their last league outing, extending their winless streak to seven matches.

The Basque side have been one of the league's worst travellers and are still winless on the road after five away games (D2, L3).

Like Sevilla, Alaves' fortunes have worsened over the course of the season; they were second in La Liga at the end of August but have dropped to 11th, having managed 12 points from 11 league matches.

Long-term absentees Facundo Garces and Mikel Rodriguez are the only players sidelined for the visitors, with both nursing cruciate ligament injuries.

Lucas Boye and Mariano Diaz have scored five and four league goals, respectively, but while the former is expected to headline the attack for the visitors, the latter will likely remain among the substitutes, as his super-sub impact this season is key for the team's second-half performances.

Alaves have a solid track record against Sevilla, having won four of the last seven H2Hs (D2, L1). However, they have beaten Sevilla on the road only once in the last 72 years.

Whispers Predicts: Sevilla 2-1 Alaves

Priced at 1/1 (2.00), Sevilla are considered favourites by the bookmakers ahead of this skirmish.

Alaves are without a win in seven consecutive matches, and considering their lack of away wins this season, we are leaning toward Sevilla, who have two wins in their last three games.

Five of Sevilla's last seven fixtures, each of Alaves' last four outings, and six of the last seven clashes between these outfits have produced goals at both ends, and this can be backed at 21/20 (2.05) across many of the best new UK betting sites.

We also fancy over 2.5 total goals at 6/5 (2.20), as was the case in six of the hosts' last seven matches.

📈 Sevilla vs Alaves — Whispers' Tips
