Full-time draw

Three of their last five meetings have ended in a full-time draw.

On Sunday, Sassuolo will host Torino at the Mapei Stadium, Citta del Tricolore, in the Serie A, with four points separating both teams ahead of this clash.

The Neroverdi have not been at their best in the last five games, with two wins, two draws and one loss. They failed to build on their win against Fiorentina last weekend and had to settle for a 2-2 draw against AC Milan at the weekend.

Meanwhile, the Granata have been on a bad run in their last five games, having lost three games in a row. However, they were able to put those losses behind and secured a narrow 1-0 win over Cremonese at the weekend, getting back to winning ways.

Sassuolo vs Torino prediction: A draw is expected in this tie

Key statistics

  • A 1-1 scoreline has been played in three of their last five encounters.
  • Full-time draw has been played in three of their last five meetings.
  • BTTS has been played in four of their last five encounters.

Correct score prediction: Sassuolo 1-1 Torino

Sassuolo’s home advantage puts them in a confident position to win this game, but we expect the game to be tight and we predict a draw. Both teams have not been at their best as they try to push themselves into a European spot, but Neroverdi still have the upper hand.

Despite Sassuolo being in better form than the visitors, we do not expect a win for them. Their previous meetings have been difficult and we predict a 1-1 draw for this clash.

Pre-match odds and win probability: Sassuolo narrow favourites

  • Home: 11/8 (2.38) – 42.0%
  • Draw: 11/5 (3.20) – 31.3%
  • Away: 21/10 (3.10) – 32.3%

Odds provided by Ladbrokes. Subject to change.

The bookmakers slightly favour Sassuolo on home soil, with odds of 2.38 implying a 42.0% chance of victory. Torino are priced at 3.10 (32.3%), while the draw sits at 3.20 (31.3%), underlining expectations of a closely fought contest. The host’s home advantage gives them a marginal edge, but the odds suggest fine margins and a game that could go either way.

Most recent head-to-head: Draws dominate previous meetings

Sassuolo and Torino have a history of draws occurring frequently in their meetings. In the last five competitive matches, Sassuolo have won once, while Torino have also claimed one victory, and the remaining three games have ended in a draw.

The recent results were a 1–1 draw in 2024 in the Neroverdi home and the return leg ended in a 2–1 win in 2023 for Torino. Meeting. In their last five meetings, they have played a draw three times, which shows that this tie could also end in a draw.

Sassuolo preview: Berardi's absence adds to midfield suspension

Sassuolo remain stretched by injuries, most notably the continued absence of talisman Domenico Berardi, leaving them short of creativity and goal threat in the final third. Their problems are further compounded by a midfield suspension, with Kristian Thorstvedt ruled out after collecting another booking in Milan.

With Thorstvedt unavailable, Aster Vranckx could be handed a rare start in the centre of the park, potentially partnering Kone and Nemanja Matic. The reshuffle places added responsibility on Sassuolo’s remaining attackers to compensate for Berardi’s absence and maintain their attacking output.

Predicted lineup: Muric (GK), Walukiewicz, Izdes, Muharemovic, Doig, Vranckx, Matic, Kone, Volpato, Pinamonti & Lauriente

Last five fixtures

  • 14.12.25 – AC Milan 2–2 Sassuolo
  • 06.12.25 – Sassuolo 3–1 Fiorentina
  • 28.11.25 – Como 2–0 Sassuolo
  • 24.11.25 – Sassuolo 2–2 Pisa
  • 09.11.25 – Atalanta 0–3 Sassuolo

Torino preview: Selection headache for manager

Torino arrive with encouraging attacking options, as Dušan Zapata boasts an excellent record against Sassuolo, having scored ten times against the Neroverdi, including in their last meeting at the Mapei Stadium in February 2024. His experience and physical presence could once again prove decisive.

However, Zapata is no longer assured of a starting role, with Giovanni Simeone now fully fit and pushing to partner Che Adams in attack. At the back, Ardian Ismajli returned to the squad last week, offering a timely boost. However, Torino are still weakened defensively after Saúl Coco and Adam Masina departed for Africa Cup of Nations duty.

Predicted lineup: Israel (GK), Tameze, Maripan, Ismajli, Pedersen, Casadei, Asllani, Vlasic, Lazaro, Adams & Zapata

Last five fixtures

  • 13.12.25 – Torino 1–0 Cremonese
  • 08.12.25 – Torino 2–3 AC Milan
  • 30.11.25 – Lecce 2–1 Torino
  • 24.11.25 – Torino 1–5 Como
  • 08.11.25 – Juventus 0–0 Torino

Andrea Pinamonti will be Sassuolo’s main attacking threat in this game. The forward has been in excellent form recently, contributing four goals and two assists this season. With Domenico Berardi unavailable, Pinamonti’s involvement will be vital in driving the home side’s attack and helping secure a crucial victory.
