🔥 Our Hot tip

Over 2.5 goals

Four of Como's last five matches have produced over 2.5 goals.

Como will aim to return to winning ways – and crucially reclaim a place in the top four – when they face Sassuolo in a Serie A clash on Friday evening at the Mapei Stadium.

Sassuolo sit comfortably in 11th place with 42 points, but Fabio Grosso will be targeting a strong finish to push his side into the top half of the table in the closing weeks of the campaign.

Como slipped out of the top four following a seven-goal thriller defeat to Inter Milan, yet they remain just two points behind Juventus and firmly in contention for Champions League qualification with six games left to play.

After an impressive spell between late January and early March, when the Black and Greens won five of six Serie A matches, Sassuolo have since hit another rough patch.

They have lost three of their last five outings and come into this fixture on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Genoa.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Sassuolo have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six matches.

Interestingly, Fabio Grosso’s side have posted almost identical records at home and away this season, winning seven matches at the Mapei Stadium - including notable victories over Lazio and Atalanta - but also losing seven.

The Neroverdi will be without their attacking talisman Domenico Berardi, who was sent off during the defeat to Genoa following an altercation in the tunnel at half-time.

Josh Doig is also suspended, while Filippo Romagna, Edoardo Pieragnolo and Fali Cande remain sidelined through injury.

The race for Champions League qualification in Serie A is finely poised, with Juventus, Roma and Como all battling for the final top-four spot, unless AC Milan suffer a dramatic late-season collapse.

🔍 Whispers Insight

Sassuolo have lost the first half in four of their last five matches.

Cesc Fabregas has done an outstanding job at Como, and securing a top-four finish would mark a remarkable achievement in his early managerial career. Even if they fall short, their progress this season has already exceeded expectations.

Como have suffered just one defeat in their last nine matches, although they are now winless in their previous two. With a relatively favourable run of fixtures ahead, they can ill afford to drop further points.

Jayden Addai is the only confirmed absentee for the Biancoblu this weekend, leaving Fabregas with an almost fully fit squad to select from.

Whispers Predicts: Sassuolo 1-2 Como

Sassuolo have struggled for consistency in recent weeks, while Como are desperate to return to winning ways - making the visitors a strong pick at 1.67 to boost their top-four hopes.

The hosts have conceded the opening goal in each of their last five matches, so backing Como to score first at 1.55 appears a logical option.

With five of Sassuolo’s last six games seeing both teams find the net, the BTTS - Yes market at 1.8 also looks particularly appealing.

> Over 2.5 goals at 1.8 | Likelihood: Probable
