While traditionally a club that struggles away from home in Europe, Olympiacos have fared well over the last couple of years, and have not lost any of their last five European away fixtures.
That should give this group the confidence to go to France and take the game to Rennes, particularly as they have won their last nine matches under the guidance of Imanol Alguacil, who only took over as manager in September.
A turning point for the Greek side in Europe was in 2024, when they lifted the Europa Conference League. Given their hot start to the current season, they will believe they can go one better this season by winning the Europa League.
For the trip to France, Alguacil is without Kostas Fortounis, Yusuf Yazici, and Ayoub El Kaabi, with all three men recovering from serious injuries.
As for the hosts, this game has arguably come at the worst possible time, as they are currently in their worst form of the season after making a bright start.
While Rennes are still inside the top five in Ligue 1, they have lost three of their last five league matches and won just one of their last four in all competitions.
In terms of qualification for the knockout stages, this match is more important for the French side than it is for the Greeks. A loss would be far from terminal for Rennes, but it would put added pressure on their final four matches.
Manager Franck Haise is missing two key players for this one – top scorer Esteban Lepaul and first-choice goalkeeper Brice Samba.
