Real Madrid vs Juventus predictions: Goals at both ends
Key stats
- Nine of the last 11 meetings between Real Madrid and Juventus produced goals at both ends.
- At least five goals were scored in each of Juventus’ last four games.
- Each of Real Madrid's last six matches, and four of Juventus’ last five games featured fewer than five cards.
Correct score prediction: Real Madrid 3-1 Juventus
Although Juventus have won four of their last five matches, last week's humiliating 5-2 defeat to Manchester City does not inspire much confidence.
Real Madrid, on the other hand, are currently on a six-match unbeaten run (W5, D1). They also have a solid track record against Juventus, having won four of the last six meetings between these teams.
Taking everything into account, we are confident that Real Madrid will advance to the last eight.

Real Madrid preview: A couple of injury concerns
Xabi Alonso has ruled out Kylian Mbappe’s availability for the FIFA Club World Cup round of 16 showdown with Juventus on Tuesday. The French star, who was hospitalised with acute gastroenteritis, has missed all three of Los Blancos’ group-stage matches.
While Mbappe has returned to training, he will be available after this game, but the story is different for David Alaba, whose new injury has ruled him out for the remainder of the Club World Cup.
There is some good news, as Raul Asencio returns to the fold after missing the victory over Salzburg due to a red card suspension. The young defender will likely not start this game, given his recent mistakes in and around the box.
In Mbappe’s absence, youngster Gonzalo Garcia has shone in the no. 9 role and will likely continue upfront alongside Vinicius Jr. and Fede Valverde for this clash.
Predicted lineup: Courtois (GK), F. Garcia, Huijsen, Rudiger, Alexander-Arnold, Bellingham, Valverde, Guler, G. Garcia & Vinicius.

Juventus preview: Changes expected
Juventus were torn apart by Man City in their last group game and must make changes to their setup as they battle Real Madrid in the knockout phase.
The Turin giants could be without centre-back Nicolo Savona, who sustained an injury in the 5-2 defeat to City. The 22-year-old faces a race to be fit, but if he fails to return, Federico Gatti is expected to get the nod.
Kenan Yildiz and Dusan Vlahovic have scored three and two goals respectively for Juventus in this tournament. Both players are strong candidates to start on Tuesday evening.
Predicted lineup: Di Gregorio (GK), Costa, Kalulu, Gatti, Kelly, Kostic, McKennie, Locatelli, Koopmeiners, Yildiz & Vlahovic.

Player to watch: Gonzalo Garcia
After scoring 25 goals and providing two assists in 36 appearances for Real Madrid Castilla last season, Gonzalo Garcia has been impressive at the FIFA Club World Cup. The 21-year-old had three direct goal involvements in the group stage and will look to continue his fine form here.
