PSV were one of Europe's standout teams last season losing just once on their way to a 25th Eredivisie title. Valencia, on the other hand, failed to qualify for any sort of European competition and are winless in La Liga since mid-April.

PSV vs Valencia Prediction: Dutch giants to overcome Spanish opposition
Key stats
- PSV went a whole season unbeaten at home in the Eredivisie
- Boeren have won just one of their previous 14 matches against Spanish opposition
- Valencia only scored in two of their final five games last campaign
Correct score prediction: PSV 3-0 Valencia
Given how utterly dominant PSV were in their domestic league last season, it would be a shock if they weren't at a similar level this time around and put Valencia to the sword. Los Ches have now not finished higher than 9th since 2019 and shows just how poor things have become at the Mestalla.
Pre-game odds and win probability: Boeren heavily fancied to win
- Home: 7/10 (1/7) – 58.8%
- Draw: 5/2 (3.5) – 28.6%
- Away: 13/5 (3.6) – 27.8%
We can only see one team emerging victorious and that is the Dutch champions. Boeren are an ominous outfit at the moment and haven't lost any key players this transfer window.
So, if they can keep playing how they did last campaign this win doesn't appear to be in doubt and we'd suggest looking at the BTTS – No & PSV to win. We are not confident in this Valencia side who slugged to 9th in La Liga, but if you feel differently, then be sure to check out all of our free betting tips.
Most recent H2Hs: Valencia have history on their side
Despite struggling to get back to their former glory, Valencia have performed well against PSV in the past. The Spanish side have won more than 50% of the fixtures between the two teams, although they did lose the last encounter, which was a friendly in 2018.

PSV Preview: A big chance to impress
While PSV were almost untouchable in the Netherlands last season, they did flatter to deceive when it came to European football. They ended up getting out of their Champions League group, but only managed to win two of the eight games they played, so beating a team from outside of their home country would be a big step mentally.

Valencia Preview: Yet another tough test
Valencia have failed to score in back-to-back friendlies this summer against Alaves and Castellon respectively and their only win has come against CF Benidorm. So, Los Ches must try to put a marker down this weekend and claim an inspirational win against PSV.

Player to watch: Ricardo Pepi
It was a frustrating first season with PSV for Ricardo Pepi who did feature 27 times in the Eredivisie, but only 1 of those was from the start. However, with the likes of Jonathan Bakayoko on an extended break and Noa Lang injured, this is his chance to stake a claim to start.

Pepi was impressive when handed a runout last campaign registering nine goal involvements in the league. But if he can't shine in pre-season then there will be very little hope of him earning more regular minutes when domestic club football comes around.
