Porto vs Braga prediction: Dragoes to extend hot home streak against Braga
Key stats
- Porto have won each of their last five Primeira Liga home games against Braga, stretching back to a 2-1 defeat in January 2020.
- Braga have conceded the opening goal in four of their last five games against Porto, while there have been fewer than three goals scored in five of their six clashes since March 2023.
- Porto have won all but one of their last seven home games in the league, with a goalless draw against rivals Benfica on October 5 being the exception.
- Braga are yet to suffer defeat away from home this season, having picked up five wins and four draws from their nine matches across all competitions.
Correct score prediction: Porto 2-0 Braga
Braga have put together a solid run of results in recent weeks and will be looking to snap their losing streak at Estadio do Dragao. However, Francesco Farioli’s men have been near impenetrable at home this season and we are backing them to condemn Braga to their first away defeat of the campaign.

Porto preview: Unbeaten in the league since April
Porto returned to winning ways last Monday when they fought back from behind to secure a 2-1 comeback victory over Moreirense in the Primeira Liga.
After falling behind through Alan’s 18th-minute strike, Samu Aghehowa converted from the penalty spot right on the stroke of half time, before Deniz Gul netted in the 88th minute to complete the comeback.
Porto head into Sunday’s tie as one of just two sides unbeaten in the Primeira Liga this season, having picked up eight wins and one draw from their nine games, while their last league defeat came on April 26, when they were beaten 2-0 by Estrela Amadora at the Estadio Jose Gomes.
With 25 points from a possible 27, Francesco Farioli’s men are currently second in the league standings, level on points with first-placed Sporting Lisbon, who secured a 2-0 victory over Alberta on Friday.
Predicted lineup: Costa (GK), Costa, Bednarek, Kiwior, Moura, Veiga, Varela, Froholdt, Pepe, Aghehowa & Sainz
Last five games
- Moreirense 1-2 Porto
- Nottingham Forest 2-0 Porto
- Celoricense 0-4 Porto
- Porto 0-0 Benfica
- Porto 2-1 Red Star Belgrade
Braga preview: Seeking consecutive league wins for the first time since August
Braga made light work of Santa Clara in the quarter-finals of the Taca da Liga on Wednesday as they stormed to a 5-0 victory when the two sides squared off at the Estadio Braga Municipal.
With that result, Carlos Vicens’ men have now won four consecutive matches across four different competitions, including a 1-0 victory over Braganca in the Taca de Portugal on October 18 and a 2-0 win over Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League on October 23.
Braga now turn their focus to the Primeira Liga, where they cruised to a 4-0 win over Casa Pia last Sunday to snap their run of six consecutive matches without a win in the league.
Braga have picked up three wins and four draws from their nine Primeira Liga games to collect 13 points and sit seventh in the league table, but could move into fifth place with a win on Sunday.
While Os Arcebispos will be looking to keep the juggernaut rolling this weekend, they journey to the Estadio do Dragao, where they have lost each of their last four visits, conceding nine goals and scoring two since a 3-2 loss in March 2021.
Predicted lineup: Hornicek (GK), Gomez, Lagerbielke, Arrey-Mbi, Dorgeles, Gorby, Rodrigues, Lelo, Zalazar, El Ouazzani & Horta
Last five games
- Braga 5-0 Santa Clara
- Braga 4-0 Casa Pia
- Braga 2-0 Red Star Belgrade
- Braganca 0-1 Braga
- Sporting Lisbon 1-1 Braga
Player to watch — Samu Aghehowa

Samuel Aghehowa has been instrumental in Porto’s impressive start to the league campaign and the Spanish striker will be one to keep an eye on this weekend.
The 21-year-old inspired the Dragoes' comeback against Moreirense last time out with his sixth league goal of the season and should spearhead the attack once again.
Aghehowa has netted nine goals in 12 matches for club and country this season and should team up with Brazilian forward Pepe and Spanish striker Borja Sainz.
