Plymouth Argyle are on the hunt for their second league win this season when they welcome Stockport County to Home Park this Saturday.

The Pilgrims, who are still adjusting to life in League One after last season's relegation, have struggled to pick up points. The Hatters, meanwhile, have picked up 11 points from their opening six matches and will be looking for more.

Plymouth Argyle vs Stockport County predictions: Both teams to score

Key stats

  • Stockport County have only lost one league match this season.
  • Plymouth have only managed one victory in League One since the start of the season.
  • Plymouth boast the joint-worst defence in the competition, conceding 13 goals across their six matches.

Correct score prediction: Plymouth Argyle 2-2 Stockport County

Things are beginning to look up for Plymouth who have picked up a couple of solid wins – one over Blackpool in the league and the other against Cheltenham in the EFL Trophy.

Both successes came at home, meaning the Pilgrims have now won three of their last four games at Home Park across all competitions.

While Stockport are undoubtedly a strong side, the Hatters are winless in their last three away matches. With that in mind, we could be looking at a very close game on Saturday.

Pre-game odds and win probability: Visitors are clear favourites

  • HOME: 21/10 (3.10) – 32.3%
  • DRAW: 5/2 (3.50) – 28.6%
  • AWAY: 6/5 (2.20) – 45.5%

Stockport are the visitors on Saturday, but that has not stopped them from entering the fixture as favourites at 6/5 (2.20). This gives the Hatters a 45% probability of winning.

Plymouth, on the other hand, are priced at 21/10 to win in front of their home fans. Considering their improving record at Home Park, this is undoubtedly the value bet.

In better news for the hosts, Kornel Szucs has not been selected by Hungary, while no fresh injury problems have arisen ahead of the weekend.

Stockport County preview: Hatters looking for rare away win

Stockport have enjoyed a strong start to the League One season, picking up 11 points from their opening six games. However, if there is one area of improvement, it is definitely their away form.

The Hatters are winless in their last three matches on the road, and they will be without Lewis Fiorini (Scotland Under-21s), Benony Breki Andresson (Iceland Under-21s) and Andrew Wogan (Republic of Ireland Under-21s) as they look for a rare away success.

Malik Mothersille has not been named in the Jamaica squad and will be available for action. Nathan Lowe, meanwhile, is expected to drop to the bench despite netting a brace in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday.

Predicted lineup: Addai (GK), Connolly, Hills, Pye, Fevrier, Moxon, Norwood, Andrew, Mothersille, Wootton & Diamond

Last five matches

  • Stockport 5-2 Wolves U21s
  • Wigan Athletic 1-1 Stockport
