PEC Zwolle were denied consecutive league wins for the first time since August last Sunday when they fell to a 3-2 defeat against Fortuna Sittard at the Fortuna Sittard Stadion.
Zwolle found themselves three goals down after Lance Duijvestijn, Yassin Oukili and Kaj Sierhuis found the back of the net to put Fortuna Sittard in the driver’s seat, but Gabriel Reiziger and Zico Buurmeester hit back to reduce deficit.
With each of their last four defeats coming on the road, where they are without a win in 16 straight league matches, home comfort awaits the Blauwvingers, who are unbeaten in their five matches at the MAC3PARK Stadion since the start of March.
In what has been another underwhelming league campaign that has seen them record just nine victories, Henry van der Vegt’s men are guaranteed safety as they sit 13th in the table with 37 points from 33 matches, five points above the relegation playoff spot.
While Zwolle will look to end the season on a high in front of their home supporters, they have lost each of their last 13 games against Feyenoord across all competitions, with De Stadionclub scoring 42 goals and keeping seven clean sheets since December 2019.
On the other hand, Feyenoord failed to make the most of their chances against AZ Alkmaar last Sunday as they played out a 1-1 draw when the two sides squared off at De Kuip.
Troy Parrott broke the deadlock inside the opening minute to put AZ Alkmaar in front heading into half time, but Anis Hadj Moussa hit back for the hosts in the 57th minute to force a share of the spoils.
With that result, Feyenoord have now gone eight consecutive league games without defeat, picking up three wins and five draws since March’s 2-0 defeat at the hands of Twente.
It has been another impressive league campaign for Robin van Persie’s men, who are set to finish as runners-up for the second time in the last three seasons and secure a return to the Champions League, having missed out on the European showpiece this season.
Feyenoord have picked up 18 points and eight draws from their 33 Eredivisie games to collect 62 points and sit second in the league table, four points above third-placed Twente in the UCL playoff spot.

Whispers predicts: PEC Zwolle 1-3 Feyenoord
With relegation no longer a concern, Zwolle can take their foot off the gas this weekend, particularly against a star-studded Feyenoord side, who have won each of their last 13 meetings.
The Blauwvingers have been rock-solid at home of late, but given the gulf in quality and depth between the two teams, Feyenoord are heavily backed to win by the bookmakers, who have them priced at 1.66.
Feyenoord have led at half time in each of their last seven games versus Zwolle, making 2/2 a very appealing option, while we also fancy over 2.5 at 1.40.
Van Persie’s men have failed to keep a clean sheet in seven of their last eight matches, and Feyenoord + BTTS – Yes at 2.75 is perhaps the value bet for us, while the correct score market has a correct score of 1-3 at 12.00.
> Over 2.5 goals – Yes @ 1.40 | Likelihood: Possible
> HT/FT – 2/2 at 2.60 | Likelihood: Probable
> Feyenoord to win + BTTS – Yes @ 2.75 | Likelihood: Possible
> Correct score: 1-3 at 12.00 | Likelihood: Outsider
