Olympiacos vs Braga prediction: The hosts to get off the mark
Key Stats
- Braga have won just one of their last three away matches.
- Olympiacos have won two of their last three home matches.
- Three of Olympiacos' last four matches have produced fewer than three goals.
Correct score prediction: Olympiacos 2-0 Braga
Olympiacos have been among the goals at home this season and they have scored at least two goals in two of their three matches at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium. They have also only conceded one goal in front of their home fans this season so keeping a clean sheet against a Braga team that struggle on the road feels likely.
Pre-game odds and win probability: The hosts are the favourites
- HOME: 11/10 (2.10) – 47.6%
- DRAW: 12/5 (3.40) – 29.4%
- AWAY: 12/5 (3.40) – 29.4%
*odds from Ladbrokes, subject to change
Olympiacos are considered the slight favourites for this one but the bookies aren't entirely convinced as they are still odds against. Ladbrokes have given the hosts a 47.6% chance of coming out on top on Thursday night while Braga have been given a 29.4% chance of taking three points with them back to Portugal.

Most recent H2Hs: A first-ever meeting
This is the first time that Olympiacos and Braga have ever met in a competitive match. They have met in a friendly once before though, with that came coming during pre-season in 2012. On that occasion, the two teams played out a 1-1 draw and a similar result on Thursday is very much on the cards.
Olympiacos preview: Going for back-to-back triumphs
Olympiacos took full advantage of the Europa Conference League last season and their triumph in the final over Fiorentina sparked breathtaking scenes around Athens. The trophy has reignited the fire at the club and the supporters are now keen to see them go deep in the Europa League. A win in front of a packed house on Thursday will get them underway.
Predicted lineup: Tzolakis (GK), Costinha, Retsos, Carmo, Apostolopoulos, Mouzakitis, Stamenic, Rodinei, Oliveira, Velde, El Kaabi

Braga preview: You don't know what you're going to get
Predicting matches featuring Braga is pretty tricky as they are a team that often produces wild (both good and bad) performances out of seemingly nowhere. They have already experienced highs and lows this season, which started back in July for them, and will be keen to show that they have the mettle to produce the goods away in Europe.
Predicted lineup: Matheus (GK), Gomez, Ferreira, Niakate, Marin, Carvalho, Gorby, Horta, Bruma, Martinez, Ouzzani

Player to watch: Ayoub El Kaabi
Ayoub El Kaabi has been excellent for Olympiacos since signing for the club last summer from Hatayspor in Turkey. In his first season in Greece, El Kaabi scored 33 goals in all competitions with 16 of those coming in UEFA competitions. Those goals helped Olympiacos to a maiden European triumph and he will now be hoping to lead the Greek giants to more glory.
