Bournemouth to score first

Bournemouth have scored the opening goal in each of their last six matches.

Andoni Iraola will take charge of AFC Bournemouth for the final time when the Cherries travel to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in the last Premier League match of the season on Sunday afternoon.

Bournemouth head into the final day sitting sixth in the table, three points behind Liverpool, and remain in contention for a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

Nottingham Forest, meanwhile, have already secured their Premier League status for another campaign and will be eager to sign off with a positive result in front of their home supporters.

Bournemouth have been one of the Premier League’s standout stories under Andoni Iraola, whose outstanding work has guided the club to European football for the first time in their 127-year history.

Yet there remains the possibility of an even more remarkable finish, with Champions League qualification still mathematically within reach on the final day, even without a top-five finish.

For that scenario to unfold, Liverpool would need to defeat Brentford, while Manchester City would have to overcome Aston Villa in Pep Guardiola’s final game in charge. That combination would open an unexpected route into Europe’s elite competition.

Bournemouth also arrive in exceptional form, currently on a 17-match unbeaten run, and will be aiming to complete only their second league double over Nottingham Forest after a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture at the Vitality Stadium in October.

Forest, by contrast, have lost momentum after a 10-match unbeaten run in all competitions, failing to win any of their last three matches and losing two of them.

The Tricky Trees were beaten 3-2 by Manchester United at Old Trafford last time out, a result that brought their eight-match unbeaten run in the Premier League to an end.

Sitting 16th in the table and seven points clear of the relegation zone, Forest are already safe but face an important summer, with speculation surrounding the futures of several key players.

Vitor Pereira has still done an impressive job stabilising the club, though Forest face a difficult challenge against a Bournemouth side unbeaten in the last six Premier League meetings between the teams.

Bournemouth have won three of their last four visits to the City Ground, and given their current form, the Cherries look well placed to claim all three points at odds of 21/20.

Five of the last seven meetings between Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth have seen both teams score, making BTTS – Yes at 8/15 a strong option.

Both sides have also been involved in matches featuring over 2.5 goals in five of their last seven outings, which makes over 2.5 goals at 3/5 another appealing selection.
