Some details of the Nico Gonzalez contract have been revealed after he made a Deadline Day transfer to Manchester City.
Signing from Porto, the midfielder has joined Pep Guardiola's side after they paid his £50m release clause. He will likely be seen as a replacement for Rodri, who suffered an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injury earlier this season and will likely miss the rest of it.

Nico Gonzalez contract: How much will he earn at Man City?
At the time of writing, just how much exactly Gonzalez will earn at City is unknown. According to Capology, he was earning around £18k per week at Porto, and we can imagine that that number would drastically increase at the reigning Premier League champions.
Given that both clubs would have been scrambling to try and get a late deal done, we can expect Gonzalez's demands to be fairly high. A 1000% increase would take him to roughly £180k per week for example, which would put him on par with some of City's squad players.
Nico Gonzalez contract: How long will he stay at Man City?
Gonzalez has reportedly signed a four-and-a-half contract at City, which would keep him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2029. It is not quite the nine-and-a-half deal that Erling Haaland signed recently, but the 23-year-old would be staying until he was 27.
Nico Gonzalez contract: How would he compare to Man City's top earners?
Assuming he was given around a £180k-per-week contract, Gonzalez would only be the joint-11th highest earner in the City squad, according to Capology. Haaland's new deal places him as the highest earner on a whopping £525k per week, nearly three times as much!
Manuel Akanji and Ruben Dias earn £180k per week, while City's more regular starters earn significantly more. Once Rodri returns from injury, Gonzalez will likely not be seen as a regular starter, so an estimated £180k per week for him seems about the right number compared to the rest of the squad.
