The Magpies started the new season with a 2-2 draw against Liverpool at home before picking up their first league win with a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

Matthias Jaissle's side have also done well in the EFL Cup, beating West Bromwich Albion and Millwall to set up a fourth-round clash away to Everton.

However, the Magpies suffered a heavy 4-1 defeat to Leeds United in their previous game, their biggest league defeat since January.

Newcastle have failed to beat Hull in any of their three Premier League meetings at home, conceding at least twice in each of those matches.

Hull City came close to securing a memorable victory at Stamford Bridge, but Joao Pedro's 66th-minute goal salvaged a draw for the Blues.

It has been a dream start for Sergej Jakirovic's side, who remain unbeaten in the Premier League, picking up two wins in the process.

The Tigers beat Man Utd 2-0 in their opening game before recording another 1-0 victory over newcomers Coventry, and despite draws against Aston Villa and Chelsea, they should be full of confidence.

The last meeting between the two sides at St James' Park ended in a 2-2 draw, while Hull City have won two of their last three visits to this venue.
